I was just about to say "Wow a good start, 65yd kickoff return to Bucknell 13" and then our first pass is intercepted

Also what happened to Jeff Mathews, the live stats site said Mark Key threw the interception who is listed as a DE on the roster???

Drew Alston also money as punter.

Cornell breaks a 10-game losing streak and Austin gets his first win.  Next week: Harvard.

More than enough mistakes, overthrown passes and momentum-crushing turnovers on both sides for three games. Every time a playuer went down, it's scary not only because he might be hurt, but because of how thin Cornell is. In Bucknell, Cornell found a team where this many mistakes could be overcome. When we got the ~65-yard return of the opening kickoff almost to the Bucknell end zone, I worried that not going all the way might be costly because of what could and - woof! - we throw an interception. Jeff Matthews overthrew too many receivers early on, but Bucknell's problem was that on-the-money passes got dropped. Had their kicker made those two missed FGs, that would have changed Bucknell's game strategy.

If imperfect, it's a win. Let's hope CornellBigRed.com or the Journal or someone doesn't say this gives Cornell momentum going into Harvard.

Thank you, Drew Alston. Has a Cornell punter ever been team MVP?
