The Golden Knights are your 2007 ECAC Champions.  Hats off to Q for a heckuva post-season.  They played fantastically from Game 1 against Union all the way up to the 3rd period tonight, but just seemed to mail it in from there.  Congrats to Tech for not taking this game lightly considering their NCAA status already.

Quin 1: Jean-Marc Beaudoin (1st per.)
Quin 2: Bryan Leitch (PPG) (1st per.)
Clark 1: Chris D'Alvise (3rd per.)
Clark 2: Philippe Pauquet (3rd per.)
Clark 3: Brodie Rutherglen (3rd per.)
Clark 4: Shawn Weller (ENG) 3rd per.)

I have a source at the rink that says the "Quinnipiac Pep Band" is actually the RPI band all dressed up.  Anyone can verify this?  Apparently they're playing the usual Clarkson musical razzies.

I was wondering, because it sounded really familiar.

The Q announcers are so cute; they're obviously just overjoyed to be in the final and playing well.  The Clarkson audio feed continues to sound like it's being dragged behind a Ford Explorer down a gravel road.

According to the CSTV announcers, Seth Appert brought the entire RPI team to Albany for the games, to "inspire them for next year".  Maybe they had room on the bus for the pep band too?

Sounds like Atkinson causing problems for another CU as he draws a penalty.

And now 3-2 Clarkson under a minute later

Can Q turn the tide?

Wow, amazing comeback by the Knights.  About 6 mins left.

Clarkson wins, and the "big four" of the ECAC run their streak of titles to 9:

99 Clarkson
00 St. Lawrence
01 St. Lawrence
02 Harvard
03 Cornell
04 Harvard
05 Cornell
06 Harvard
07 Clarkson

They also won 9 of the prior 12, meaning, since 1986, those four teams have won 18 of the last 21 ECAC titles:

5 - Cornell (86, 96, 97, 03, 05)
5 - Harvard (87, 94, 02, 04, 06)
5 - St. Lawrence (88, 89, 92, 00, 01)
3 - Clarkson (93, 99, 07)

(They had 15 of those 21 runners-up, giving them 33 of 42 title game slots).

Great 3rd period by Clarkson. I was however, rooting for the underdog so I'm a bit bummed to see Q's season come to an end.  An awesome game and I hope Clarkson (and SLU) have a great run in the NC$$ tourney.

Yes, it was the RPI band "helping out" with Q.

At one point, they actually played the RPI fight song.
