Rumors abound on the Knights Round Table and USCHO forums that Clarkson will be without Nick Dodge this weekend due to a strained abdominal muscle.  Could be good news for us, as it takes away one of their biggest offensive threats, though they certainly have no shortage of offensive firepower without him. But if the defense can play like it did last Saturday, we can hopefully focus more on our own offense rather than fending off theirs.

IIRC, Dodge played hurt during the Potsdam game.  He's one hell of a player.  I'd prefer to beat them with him.
IIRC, Dodge played hurt during the Potsdam game.  He's one hell of a player.  I'd prefer to beat them with him.
As would I, in the Land of Machismo and Integrity. In the World of Reality, however, I'd prefer to win against a Dodge-less Clarkson than lose to them once Clarkson returns to full-strength (they still suck!).

I'm willing to sacrifice the chance at integrity to better our chances of winning.

I have to agree with Ugarte here.  As much as I'd love to see our guys showcase their talent, team-playing and raw ability in the form of big wins against tough teams, right now, I'd take any win we can get, and as many of them as possible.  Even if it means unbeknownst to us, Clarkson dresses the Potsdam peewee squad on stilts, and we beat them 2-1 in OT.

I don't remember that.  He did sit the night before because of a controversial DQ he received against McGill the previous weekend.  Maybe a Clarkson fan can confirm or deny this.

Confirmed.  He missed the Colgate game the previous night because of the DQ.

Trotsky has it right. Much better to beat Clarkson with a healthy Nick Dodge on the ice.  But he didn't say he'd rather lose to a healthy Clarkson than beat an injury depleted one.  We want to win regardless.
But he didn't say he'd rather lose to a healthy Clarkson than beat an injury depleted one.  We want to win regardless.
Right, but he implied that he would rather have Dodge play because it is good for the Concept of Competition. Agreeing that the Concept of Competition is important, I only consider it important when I don't care who wins. When I do care who wins, I don't care if the opponent is at full strength or half strength or the Potsdam peewees.

Dodge stays home if I have anything to say about it. And I already have an alibi.

I think Jeff Gilooly is more memorable.

After noting some comments above I would like to thank whoever plonked down the money to hire Mr. Gillooly and his collapsible baton.
