What a shock... penaltyfests tonight in each of the Colgate-RPI, Yale-SLU, and Brown-Clarkson games.  Lots of 5x3s.
It's getting absurd. I am still trying to figure out what Reed Kipp could have done to deserve a triple-minor for roughing after the whistle. http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0607/boxes/mclgren1.d02 That's more minutes than for a major. I don't recall ever having heard about 6 minutes for one offense before. Three minors for one player for at least two different acts, I have seen.

It was reported by an RPI posters who watched Colgate's webcast that the Colgate announcers thought Colgate would get the odd penalty. That's because the original Colgate infraction that caused Kipp to do whatever he did was ignored, and the announcer probably figured that the roughing penalties would be matching.

The game turned on the ensuing power plays.

FYI - UVm @ UNH at the top of the hour on ESPNU for anyone who gets it.

Also for those who want to scout Florida opponent New Hampshire, their game vs. SLU next week is on NHPTV and streamed at NHPTV.org. Five games from earlier this year (including vs. Yale) are up at: http://www.nhptv.org/product/hockey/hockey.htm
