Where can I watch the CC/Union game? I remember USCHO used to have a TV schedule, but I can't find it. Does it still exist, or will college hockey no longer be broadcast?

Beeeej

I think he meant "watch" as in "pay attention to."

On the other hand, I can't find a TV schedule on USCHO, either, other than a thread on the discussion board.  But we already know for sure that some college hockey games will be on TV this year, as every year.

I'm too lazy to check to see if this includes games the INCH schedule doesn't

Beeeej

I already know it does - INCH's doesn't have the Harvard@Cornell game.  On the other hand, CHN has it as 7pm when it's been moved to 5pm.

Thanks!

Look like Union @ CC won't be televised.

Good question.  A quick survery from last year showed the opening poll last year really ranked 30 teams (15 in the actual polls, and 15 in "also receiving votes").  This year's opening poll they have 39 ranked teams (20 in the actual poll, and 19 "also receiving votes").

There are only 58 D-I college hockey programs.  That means only 19 schools didn't get a vote in the opening poll!  Princeton, Union, and Yale were the 3 from the ECACHL.

By the end of last year, the poll only ranked 22 teams (15 in the actual polls, and 7 in the "also receiving votes").  I guess they figured they had at least 20 "ranked teams" all year, so they should expand the polls.

Bottom line : It's overkill to rank 20 teams.

59, actually, with the addition of RIT this year.  Though they are still D-I Independent and will play a few games against D-III opponents, they should still be counted, particularly since they are on our nonconference slate this season.
Is next year here yet?

No kidding.  We went to see the Huskies pre-season "Matthew's Madness" Red-White game (yes, Red-White) last weekend.  Obviously it's pretty early to judge anything, but I think that the Huskies are going to have a(nother) tough year.  But perhaps the new coach will shake things up a bit, but in the pre-season Hockey Least poll they are picked to finish 9th, with Merrimack beating them for 10th place (fwiw, Vermont's picked for the 6th spot).

I think someone posted a while ago that Doug Murray had no problem with laying hits on his own guys in the Red-White game.  Well, the kid wearing number 6 (appropriately) for their "red" team seemed to have no problem hacking his own teammates to death.  We hoped the coach told him to do so because otherwise I would say it isn't a good way to make friends.  (I'll try to track down the roster for his name later and edit the post if I find it).

But the CollegeHockeyNews schedule has at least one mistake. Tomorrow's SLU @ Wisc game is almost certainly on FSN *North*, not FSN NE.

Wow, everyone should really be watching that CC/Union game.  I had no idea they faced each other until I saw this post...thanks KeithK.  Anyone else have a feeling the outcome of this game will have a huge impact on our PWR this spring?

Go UNION![/q]

If Union pulls out a win at CC, it would be a huge upset.  So yes it would help our PWR but don't hold your breath.

Ok, 59, but that doesn't change the point of the post.    :-P
