Granted, the Yosties take that cheer a bit far, but I guess it's not just Lynah now.

Maybe it's inevitable with the growth of college hockey...that is, if college hockey is growing overall.  I'm not sure if it is or not.  But assuming that it is for the sake of discussion, it would stand to reason that the sport would have to be sanitized some to be able to reach into the family demographic instead of just the potentially rowdy student demographic.  Maybe this is just a good thing in the long run.

Is next year here yet?

That cheer really is ridiculously vulgar. It's one thing to throw in a swear for effect now and again. It's another to say "how many vulgar words can we string together and be as offensive as possible."

No kidding. I heard it for the first time in the frozen four when I had the unfortunate luck to sit next to 2 michigan fans who were obnoxious and the cheer just made it worse.  I'm surprised that one wasn't nixed years back.

As inappropriate as the Michigan C-ya cheer is, the idea that they add a word every year - sort of an interclass game of Simon - is pretty cool.   That they have gotten progressively more obscene is pathetic.  (Strangely, in the middle of all the gross-out words is "Wildfong" - though I haven't been able to figure out what the Red Raider did to live on in infamy.)
