It seems to be c.2009. But how can a document like that not have a date of publication?
it does in the url lol

From the 2019-2020 NCAA record book (http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_icehockey_rb/2020/D1.pdf)

Ben Schrivens had a shutout streak of 267.11 in 2010 and Galadja had a shutout streak of 227.10 in 2018
There's a also a Cornell streak of 213:35 in 2011 and the list goes to 204:ish, so maybe this streak was #4? (EDIT: the game recap says #6, right where we started, so I'd like *someone* to publish a list!)

I headed into this weekend with a bit a dread. A bit of it was worrying that Cornell would look past St. L and suffer the trap game loss. But mostly I was worried that against Clarkson they  would look like the team that played Q and have it questioned just how good Cornell is. Well, I don't think I've seen Cornell play a better sixty minutes this season than it did last night and probably for a long, long time. If Cornell can show up and play like that, I think they can beat anyone and not need luck to do it (that's not the same as saying they will -one in done, especially in hockey, is too fickle given how just one or two bounces can make the difference). Such a fun, thrilling team to watch.

Hmm.  The NCAA record book (lower left on page 6) doesn't seem to know about those other 5.  According to their list, 202 minutes would be #10 all-time, and best ever for Cornell.  What gives?  If TBRW (which I really, really appreciate!) tracks shutout streaks, I could not find it.

I don't track it though it would be a good project.  I have goal times and goalie times so I could actually generate a table of all shut out streaks of all goalies all time.  The one thing that would make it a little chancy is I record goalies' total time in game but not when they exited and entered.  Therefore goalie switches and empty nets would probably  corrupt a few of the records.

Schneider really lost it when he met up with Stienburg.  I didn't see the prior hit from Stienburg so I have no opinion on whether or not it was clean.

The punch that Schneider threw with Stienburg laying on the ice was ugly.

The hit was fairly close to where I was sitting.  It was legal, but I can see how you could think it wasn't.

I believe Schneider was looking down at the puck because he clearly didn't see Stienberg coming.  Stienberg basically caught Schneider with his own momentum and wound up driving his head against the boards.  Definitely not a charge and not boarding, and Stienberg didn't leave his feet.  But it was a BIG hit.

I'm pretty sure they looked at it when they went in for the review, and would have given Stienberg more than a 10 minute misconduct if there was evidence of anything that they could have given him 5 minutes for.  I think adding the misconducts was a way to defuse the situation by getting the combatants off the ice, because Clarkson would have taken another run at Stienberg if he stayed out.

The rematch at Placid will be interesting if it happens.

Clarkson round table thread doesn't discuss last night yet in the main thread, but seems they are tilting toward blaming coaching.

"Fun and thrilling" is right. High tempo, disciplined hockey with 4 strong lines, solid depth, and excellent goaltending. I don't know if we'll reach the promised land, but we have all the right pieces.

It's too bad about the stupidity at the end because otherwise it was a great game.

The Fun Finish was posturing for an LP meeting.  Boys like to have dick measuring contests.

Who cares... as long as ours go home with the Homecoming Queen.

Sun: Berard Notches Hat Trick As No. 1 Men's Hockey Shellacks No. 7 Clarkson, 5-1

Nice quotes from the Sun on Berards performance.

QuoteAnd for Berard, who was a healthy scratch against St. Lawrence, it was a chance to show he deserved a spot in the lineup.

"Last week, I just didn't think he played very well. He didn't work hard enough, do the things we require ... he needed to come out of the lineup," said head coach Mike Schafer '86.

"I knew one game was probably gonna be enough to teach him a lesson, in the sense of making him understand how it hurts to be out of the lineup," he continued. "And, I mean, obviously, story-book — he comes in to score three goals. You know, he more than learned his lesson."

QuoteThe revered Clarkson penalty kill almost did its job. But with 9.4 seconds remaining in the regular season, Berard completed his first collegiate hat trick.

"Coach knew I had two, so he told me to go stand in front of the net and try to bang one in," Berard said. "And it worked out."

The whole thing was very unfortunate.

Prior to last night, Schneider's PIM total for the season was only 26 minutes.
