In 2013 we were one minute from shocking Q and advancing to (Atlantic City, I guess).  The middle game was a rout but the other 2 were fantastic efforts.
We were outshot 2-to-1 in game 1 and game 3.  In game 2, we lost 10-0.  In the excruciating finale, we couldn't maintain control of the puck in OT.

Quote from: DafatoneI know the proper thing to do now is lick our wounds and mope about Schafer, but I'm wondering if we have any shot of slipping in at 15th in the Pairwise if UMD loses their semifinal and consolation game.  That miiiiiight just knock them below us in RPI.

We'd need Michigan Tech and Michigan to win their conferences.  I don't think UMD losing twice will be enough, though.

Shame that Hockey East has no consolation game.  Two losses might knock Northeastern below us.

IIRC, the year Yale won the NC$$ they backed in after few thought it was possible.

I mean, we can hope.  Bad luck the 15 is the sole member of its conference in contention, but maybe it just doesn't matter who wins the WCHA  -- if MTU loses it may knock them below us anyway.

Disappointing loss, but look, we played a team that only two other teams defeated all year. On the positive side, this is a young team that nobody thought would be as good as the were.  Who thought that we would have two wins against #1 teams?

Agreed I think we totally over achieved early. Looking forward to next year. Of course I been saying that for along time.

Speaking of the NCAAs, had we won today I believe there would have been a very real chance of five ECAC teams making the tournament, though we wouldn't have liked it. Quinnipiac, Yale, and Harvard are in. People said had we won today we almost certainly would have been in, but let's add in a win in the semis against Harvard, and that would have sealed the deal. And if Dartmouth were to go on and win the ECACs, there would have been five ECAC teams in the tournament.

Once again, stupid, undisciplined, needless penalties proved to be the difference.
How and/or when will they ever learn?
