With the addition of O'Byrne, is the coaching staff finished with the class of 2007?  Or are there still players that have not decided yet?  Is the coaching staff looking for other players for next year?  I'd imagine they are shifting to the class of 2008 by this point.

We add:
4 F's: Bitz, Carefoot, McCutcheon, McLeod
3 D's: Glover, O'Byrne, Salmela

We lose:
4 F's: McRae, Palahicky, Bâby, Paolini
3 D's: Bell, Murray, McRae

So right now the numbers have been replaced.  The impact, well, we shall see.

Seeing as we're gaining the number of players as we'll lose, including the same forward/D breakdown, I'd figure we're done - unless something magically comes forward.

I would guess we would be finished, though it may be  Schafer has a goalie lined up if Lenny doesn't come back.

This certainly seems to be our class since 2003, tho I love theose five Freshman forwards this year.  And we need it, with that fabulous senior class leaving.  I wonder too if we may need be haeding into a slightly different are in Cornell hockey.  Schafer has always said that we have to play a defensive style because Cornell will never get the really talented forwards.  But with this year's Freshman class and what seems to be four more pretty good forwards coming in we may have teams with real firepower in the future.

Wasn't Chabot a pretty hot prospect himself?  With two NCAA-quality (at the least) goalies in addition to Lenny, Schafer may be content with his goalie situation.

Jim Hyla

You really want 3 goalies, in case one gets injured.

Sure, but with three goalies on the roster, I just don't see why he would devote recruiting resources for a fourth "just in case" LeNeveu heads for the bright lights of Phoenix.  The day after Lenny made this hypothetical announcement, I agree that Schafer and his assistants would probably break out their rolodexes and recruiting files and get a #3 up to Ithaca ASAP.

Wasn't Ian Burt a late addition after Pelletier left? That worked out fairly well. And did Marr and/or Chabot decide to come before or after Gartman left?

DeltaOne81

Marr was Gartman's replacement, effectively, though he had to wait a semester to be eligible. Chabot is just Chabot :-).
