Insofar as we're bothering to have a poll at this time of year voters should still be voting base don who is the best team given all of the available evidence.  It shouldn't just be basedon playoff results.  Small sample sizes and all.

Thought experiment. Let's say that the Air Force goalie started to channel the spirit of Ken Dryden in the tournament and managed to earn four 1-0 shut outs while his team was outshot by an average of 50-5.  Air Force would then be the national champions. But given the peripherals would it make sense to vote them the #1 team in the country? I don't think so.

If you just want the final polls to follow the NC$$ tournament results then why bother havin a poll in the first place?  Wait.  Why do we have a poll after the tournament? :-D

Seeing as how I just went from writing just 2 sports articles ever for a college newspaper to appearing on a national television show I'd say that's a pretty good deal.
