Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, host of the ECAC final four during 2011-2013, was one of the worst ice surfaces in recent times.

Good win all around. Finding form this weekend was pretty crucial to regaining some confidence. Great to see the freshman Pearson score early, and more icetime for the third liners. Next weekend is away at Brown and Yale. Go Big Red!

Quote from: Trotsky on January 09, 2026, 07:02:49 PMIs "Nanooks" racist?  I mean, back when things were still racist.

After learning that it is the indigenous word for Polar Bear, i would say it's not racist.

Probably a matter of defensive responsibility discipline. Not great to see this deep jnto the season.

I will say that Derraugh has leaned heavily on two forward lines in the past, and this is more common in women's college hockey in general.

2 lines is no longer enough to beat good teams, whereas it was viable 10+ years ago.

Scrappy. Messy. That's the theme of the season here just past the midway point. I get the sense that the ceiling of the team's potential this year depends on finding ice time and supporting roles for the whole squad, and bringing some of these freshmen into the fold.

Kristin O'Neill and Brianne Jenner named to the Canadian team. This will be O'Neill's first olympics and Jenner's fourth.

As a disciple of the Schafer school of hockey philosophy, i wanted to shoot a goose when we let up goals 3 and 4 from U-NO-who. But ok, glad to see things settle down in the end against a very slippery opponent.

In retrospect it's a wonder that we were game to do a one night camp-out for tickets in the mid-late 2000s. But back then, Lynah Faithful was like being in an anarchic student org... an outlet for teenage angst and collective spirit that felt intrinsically good and enlivening. But of course we were drinking from a well that was already depleted.

The good folks at Appleton just want to see some Old Time Hockey! The refs are apparently major buzzkills for refusing to allow a brawl.
