Quote from: ugartedjk, you have my permission to have your heart broken as a fan.

This is really at the crux of how sports imitates life. Many of us habitually delay the processing of difficult emotions or don't even realize that stuff is still sitting somewhere in our subconscious mind, and it is only through a moment of ecstatic absolution that we feel it is safe or worthwhile to do that work. Yes, "only sports" teaches us a thing or two about dealing with "real" wounds and traumas.

I'm a bit of a contrarian with respect to outdoor weather and lacrosse. Yes, there is that player safety issue to contend with. But if we are to uphold the true spirit of the game, if we are to keep what makes geography interesting, i think nature should not be cut out of it.

As a fan of Classicism, i enjoyed all the ridiculous allusions to Greek mythology that almost effortlessly wrote themselves into our story as presented on the broadcast. Funny how that works.

Today's the day Sisyphus reaches the mountaintop. Lez go Red!

For the life of me, i don't know why they use venues that are 2x bigger than necessary for the F4. The heydays of filling up stadia for the shindig are passed.

Thrilling that as dominant as the PSU D was in the first half, ours was in the 2nd.

Absolutely. The hustle plays, the ground balls, the breakups, the grit are the foundation. The flashy offense is the penthouse.

Similar story with former Harvard Women's Hockey coach Katey Stone, and how she was protected by insular leadership for years. Social norms around coaching, safety, and abuse have been changing for the better, and these "old school" coaches get stuck fostering toxic cultures.

I'm rooting for Western Michigan for their underdog stature and the Schafer connection

One of the annoying paradoxes about winning big hockey games seems to be that when players are able to take it for granted, to some extent, they can play freer. Feeling the weight of the opportunity is not always psychologically beneficial. Maybe that's part of our track record in the regional, maybe not.

These guys had the stuff of champions, regardless of this outcome. You don't play sports for moral victories, but they gave us everything we could have hoped for this year. Schafer deserved to win at least one natty, if we're being honest. A living legend. Thanks everyone
