Re: Nash injury confirmation - 16 years ago
not only that, but since when do coaches ever reveal the truth about the health of their players? Injuries are always closely guarded, this isn't unique to Cornell, the ECAC, college hockey, or even hockey as a sport. How many times have you heard the term 'lower body injury'? Unless a team is forced to divulge this sort of information (ala the NFL's mandated injury report) they're not going tby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Nash injury confirmation - 16 years ago
Yeah, I know, I responded from the hip without really thinking. Honestly Dilligaf, I owe you an apology. While I still think it's clear that you have an anti-mike agenda that leads you to say outrageous things (Shremp, a two way player?!) this makes two time that you've been right, about Romano and about Brendon. I think it's alittle absurd that you go out of your way to blame mike for everby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Nash injury confirmation - 16 years ago
That's a shame, Brendon looked fine last weekend at the hockey line, I was hoping that meant he was fit, I guess not. However, seeing as Brendon is still here on campus going to classes and generally being around, I don't see why his injury would encourage Riley to leave. He's still going to school with his older brother, even if he won't be able to play with him for a few months.by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Romano update - 16 years ago
DILLIGAFWhile it is very early, it appears that Romano is struggling to fit in to the OHL. At least Hunter has the cajones to sit him unlike Mike. He was able to break Schremp and turn him into a real hockey player. are you kidding me? Even after a year in the AHL Shremp still doesn't backcheck, what are you talking about? Shremp worked well in London because they never asked him toby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
There really isn't much of a monetary gain for the ticket office if students show up early/on time, so I doubt they really care too much about it.by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

Re: New Recruit for '08 - 16 years ago
Harvard recruiting is, apparently, so good and intimidating that they've got the big boys of college hockey going to nefarious lengths to win recruiting battles. () The major programs are beside themselves, unsure of how to deal with this new threat. And all this despite the fact that Harvard hasn't really won much of anything on the national scale in a decade.by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: New Recruit for '08 - 16 years ago
Bothman, nobody here is going to debate the fact that Harvard's 2008 recruiting class is, on paper, superior to Cornell's. Great for Harvard, we're all very proud for you. But the point is that we are still a year away from the 2008 class even matriculating, not to speak of how they adjust to NCAA hockey. The player who commits a year early is often not the same player that arrives on campus,by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Ticket Procedure Posted - 16 years ago
yes they are, and I think most students (atleast the ones that go to games) would much rather have the camping take place outside on an organicly formed line. However, the situation being as it is, I will admit that I enjoy the night in Bartels. It's a bit lame, but that doesn't meen it's not fun.by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

The RancorursusminorI didn't notice this recent article by Elliot Olshansky linked here yet: . This could have its own thread. "Romaaaaaano.... Sucks!" Eh, more like: "Romano is deeply confused" He doesn't like defense or class, so he comes to cornell? He wants nothing more than to make it in the NHL, with the devils no less, and he goes to London so that he won't haby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

dysfunction and under-achievement being defined as: multiple conferance championships, several NCAA appearances, and generally being the most successful ECAC team over the last 7 years?by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Milo - 16 years ago
to be fair, every indication is that when Milo commited to Cornell he was told that he could play both sports ( I seem to recall that this being mentioned somtime in the 05-o6 year.) If it is true that Schafer changed his mind half way through the year, and there is no evidence of this aside from Dilligaf's highly suspect word, then it's a poor job on Mike's part. It would be completely unfairby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: OT - Trouble in Minny - 16 years ago
Perhaps, but if his contact is through Tony then it would undercut his claim to have been around a few years ago for the big 'rape coverup' that he keeps spouting about.by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: NCAA Lax Quarters Returning to Cornell 2008 - 16 years ago
billhowardIt was a lack of food more than a lack of places to sell the food that hurt. Somehow, Cornell wasn't prepared. Maybe some local college with a hispitality & food sciences department could help out on planning. inter-university cooperation? surely you're joking. ugarteevilnaturedrobotI'm pretty sure that the only sports that require a year long sit are football, basketball and hockey. Thus, he could play baseball this year and then lace up his skates and play both sports next year. Spot on. Re: Milo - 16 years ago
Well, he's certainyl keeping his options open. He's goign to a school with a strong hockey program, should he decide to lace the skates up a year from now (he would have to sit out a year of hockey because he transfered, right?)by evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

Re: Riley Nash - 16 years ago
why does it matter where he was picked? Did Riley some how become a differant hockey player the day after the draft? He's going to develop differantly because he was picked high? The only reason his draft position would affect his decision to go to Cornell was if the oilers intervened, and so far they have shown no inclination to do so. Other than that, the fact that he was picked high shouby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
Re: Riley Nash - 16 years ago
DILLIGAF If he has a "family advisor" who is telling him to go to Cornell, he should seek other advise because the advice he is getting is bad advice. Maybe he should call Tony Ramono...That might not be the recommendation that would reflect well on Mike S. The same Tony Romano who decided that the best way to get to the NHL was to ignore his defensive problems and go play for the hiby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

Re: TSN Ranks Riley Nash #33 for the upcoming draft - 16 years ago
Somthing to consider is the kind of player that Riley Nash is, or atleast the kind of player that we've been told he is. By all accounts, Riley is a responcible two-way player with nice, but not elite (atleast not by 1st round pick standards) offensive skills who doesn't shy away from contact. Is this not the prototypical Cornell top line player? It's not about finding the absolute best deby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey

Re: TSN Ranks Riley Nash #33 for the upcoming draft - 16 years ago
ithacatevilnaturedrobot What this says is that Romano and Milo didn't feel that they where going to develop at Cornell, and that is disconcerting. Based upon the information the team has publicly shared, it appears... 1) It was Romano's choice to leave the team. 2) It was not Milo's choice to leave the team. What I've been told is that it was Milo's choice to leave the team, and that basebby evilnaturedrobot - Hockey
