mountainred Weder Tommy Amaker and Bill Courtney both say he could play for a major. There's not much question he could play for a big time program; he's really that good. But it's not as unusual as you seem to think. Nolan Cressler transferred to Vandy. Errick Peck played 15 minutes a game in a post graduate year at Purdue. Colgate's had the Red on the ropes several times over the past couple seasons (at Hamilton last season and in a playoff series at Lynah the season before). I feel a tiny, tiny, tiny bit for them. (Eh, no I don't.)by Weder - Hockey

Trotsky Josh '99My first job after graduating from Cornell was near Elmira; my manager commuted from Scranton every day, 120 miles each way. Bought a Honda Civic just for his commute because it had really good gas mileage. I think maybe people are just accustomed to longer commutes once you get outside the Boston-DC corridor and similarly urbanized areas around the country. It's not that unusualby Weder - Other Sports

I think schools are just creative when it comes to what they categorize as revenue. Cornell, for instance, brings in exactly as much revenue as it needs to break even on athletics. Amazing!by Weder - Other Sports

Swampy Josh '99 Kyle Rose RobbBecause just as kids are entering college is a typical time for parents to make major, potentially risky career changes? When they graduate college would seem more likely to me. If he wants to maximize his kids' grants at a top-tier, need-blind, full-need school, he'll quit his job the year before his kids enter college. Or maybe Mercyhurst jumped the gun? A 3:30 start seems kind of late given that the men are playing that night and the rink staff will need time to take down all of the NCAA signage after the women's game. (Remember, the NCAA covers all of the ads in the arena, because if there is anything that the NCAA is opposed to, it is a logo that can be seen if the NCAA is not getting a cut of the action.)by Weder - Hockey

Jim Hyla BU just tied BC 2-2 in third. If BU wins, Mercyhurst is tossed out. RIT won CHA and will be 8. If BU wins, I think we play them, if BC then Mercyhurst? I don't think CHA has an auto-bid yet, and even if it did, RIT is ineligible for the NCAA tournament as part of its transition from D-III to D-I. Robert Morris could represent CHA as an at-large selection.by Weder - Hockey

Trotsky Is there a way to set a watch on a set of players (e.g., the list of Cornellians) on any of the stat websites so that a single click would bring up their current stats?
