Re: Cornell 0 Princeton 0 (pregame) - 18 years ago
apparently didn't get to make the road trip to NJ.... well at least we don't have to worry about keith starting the game thread.... (well, sort of kidding). I'll have the cornell game on one computer, the football game on the other, and attempting to get some work done..... Let's Go RED!!!!by Rita - Hockey
Re: 2006-7 Schedule - 18 years ago
I also think that Harvard's ability to get teams like north dakato to come east is influenced by the amount of high school-prep school hockey talent. The coaches get to do some recruiting and the high school kids get an opportunity to see a team that is interested in them play live. Granted there is good hockey talent in central new york, it is just much more concentrated in boston. Teams can schby Rita - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac @ Ingalls Rink - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81 I have a recommendation all worked out for the QU games too... once we actually start playing them in Hamden, but that'll have to wait - and probably until '07-'08, huh? Since we play them early next year. Eli's on Whitney, Right? (see the old "NESN right now" thread)by Rita - Hockey
Re: A Modest Proposal: The Bucknell Plan - 18 years ago
just looked at the cornell schedule, and it seems they have invited their own patsy to newman arena... Keuka college. ah, what goes around, comes around.by Rita - Hockey
Re: A Modest Proposal: The Bucknell Plan - 18 years ago
Trotsky As far as revenue goes, hoops teams often pay patsies to come in and get slaughtered -- one joke is that the biggest statue on the St. Leo's campus is of John Thompson handing them money to lose at Georgetown. If revenue is an issue, perhaps the Red can get a slice of the road gate. After all, as long as it's home only, there's an attraction in it for say a WCHA team -- a much higherby Rita - Hockey
Re: CU - tUMD postgame - 18 years ago
Liz '05las224 I suppose the "see ya () you goon" might not have been great to pass out to the little kids though, as their parents might not have appreciated. Rita didn't seem to mind "see ya" (skip a beat) "you goon" next to her four-year old nephew. Now, if we'd been doing it the typical Lynah student section way... I think a lot of the Cornell fans there wby Rita - Hockey
Re: CU - tUMD postgame - 18 years ago
mvp G david mckee, cornell all tourney team (as listed in the news-press, and it sounds like what they announced last night): g Isaac Reichmuth, umd D ryan o'byrne, cornell D Mike Lundin, Maine F Cam Abbott, cornell F Justin Williams, umd F matt moulson, cornell and today's glaring error from the news-press in describing cam abbott's shorthanded goal "the game's only goals camby Rita - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
wow.... Had I known the jerseys came with "magical powers" I would have gotten one much early, like back when i was playing hockey in ithaca...... unfortunately, no place to play here and see if cam's #14 has extra special "hustle power". Well I guess i *could* wear it on the local skating circle (yes, skating circle) and see how many toddlers i can skate through Ritby Rita - Hockey
[ot] panthers v. kings - 18 years ago
about 7 min left in the game 3-1 kings. Joey scored at ~ 12 min mark of the 3rd to make it 3-1. panthers gave up a ppg and a shg ... rita now a final.....by Rita - Hockey
Re: picked up my game worn....how do i clean it? (bunch of puck marks!!) - 18 years ago
don't forget.... chabot took part in the pre-game warm-ups.... on the teams that i played with we were told to hit the goalie with the puck, especially early in the warm-up... so that s/he got a feel for the puck and built some confidence.... make some easy saves.... then we could start shooting for the corners.....by Rita - Hockey
Re: Jerseys?- fashion perils - 18 years ago
I saw this on espn.com yesterday... and thought it would be appropriate to post here since there are quite a few of us who will now be making a major "fashion faux pas" (unless you are one of the people who is going to frame the jersey, instead of wearing it) "Jersey Nation: You've Run Amok" By Patrick Hruby Page 2by Rita - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
I called a little after 9 am... it would have been earlier, but i was a bit late getting into work (something about hearing "it's zero degrees outside" and having the activation energy for getting out of bed triple)by Rita - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
#19 red was choice 1a (#14 was 1b) but that was already taken... so blame the person that took #19 I more than did my time at cornell (1991-99), and have been calling Bill every week to see if they were in.....by Rita - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
I reserved #14 red.... and I'll have it in time for the games in estero!!! That just made my christmas (i hope santa will do re-imbursements )by Rita - Hockey
Re: Estero thoughts - 18 years ago
No problem john .... I'm most familiar with the estero area, so i'd thought i'd pass along that info for people to take with a grain of salt (or sand) ..... i HATE driving in ft. myers with all the traffic, so i do not venture out any more than necessary, especially after driving 1200 miles to get down there (and then another 1200 to go back to indiana). Re: Posting Game Scores - 18 years ago
Thank you!!! I will now edit my bookmarks accordingly.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Posting Game Scores - 18 years ago
when you go to the cornell site to get the link for an archived game the score is posted next to the link. thus the outcome is already known... unless you have a personal valet to do your "point and clicking" for you so that you don't have download the file.....by Rita - Hockey
