copied from the other lenny thread... audio feeds for all nhl games are available FREE over the internet!!!! go to nhl.com click on the "scores" link and then click on LISTEN. pick your feed (home or away). edit: currently 2-2 all goals on the powerplay. I'm glad nhl hockey is back. Listening to chuck kaiton call the hurricane games is like visiting with an old friend....by Rita - Hockey

Re: Stock up on cowbells - 18 years ago
in perusing my favorite catalog for novelty toys (planning toddler b-day parties & stocking stuffers), I saw metal cowbells. they are small (3 inches), come in RED, and should be easy to smuggle into hostile confines. and for only $14.95 per dozen, cheap enough to lose a few to over-zealous ushers. probably won't make a lot of noise (remember kid toys), but if anyone is interested: wwwby Rita - Hockey
Re: Cornell Some-Access - 18 years ago
is it me, or no gametracker??? also, in order to get audio, i had to click on the video link. just clicking on the audio got me nothing. has anyone tried all access to listen to any of the DI hockey games last night? Ritaby Rita - Hockey
Re: [OT-ish] Lenny starts for Pheonix - 18 years ago
I too am listening at work (more working), i clicked on the coyotes audio feed, but apparently, i'm getting the "kings radio network" (even though the nhl audio window, says pheonix). that certainly explains the lack of enthusiasm by the broadcasters when the coyotes score . anyways, thanks to everyone for posting the descriptions and goal commentaries. I can't get the oln on mby Rita - Hockey
Re: hockey line forming - 18 years ago
The lottery was also weighted so that the longer you had been at cornell (i.e. matriculation date), the better number you got. And, I believe you could get up to four tickets. There was one year (1997-1998??, 6th or 7th year of grad school), that i had #2 and was able to get 3 tickets. Ironically, the person ahead of me wanted the *exact* same seats i wanted... Section D, row 11 seats 1-3. (We lby Rita - Hockey
Re: At last, a few specifics... - 18 years ago
OUCH!!!! $39.95 for year-round all access for cornell sports and then another $20 for access to all college football on the cstv network! I've yet to get a response from cstv as to what exactly the fee entitles one too. Will there be another fee for access to all the college hockey games? what about squeakball?? This could get quite expensive. ritaby Rita - Hockey
Re: free gametracker - 18 years ago
at least for football. Univ of michigan, norte dame and univ of akron are 3 schools contracting with cstv all access for the audio feed of the sporting events. I was able to follow the mich-nd and akron-purdue games via game tracker this afternoon. a quick survey indicates that harvard, brown, and princeton are also part of the cstv (st. lawrence and clarkson to not appear to be on the list)by Rita - Hockey

NC$$ ding letter - 18 years ago
The NC$$ has started mailing out the lottery results for the frozen four in Milwaukee. I got my ding letter today. they say refunds (minus the $6.00 processing fee) should be credited to my credit card on or about Sept 1st.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Final Four - 18 years ago
keeping in mind that i really don't follow lacrosse (i'd catch the last few minutes of the finals as i woke up on the Left coast), i know which teams are there perennial powerhouses, but i don't have grasp on how they are perceived by the fans...... from Hillel's comments it sounds like johns hopkins is the lacrosse equivalent to hockey's michigan and minnesota. root against them at all costby Rita - Hockey
Re: '05-'06 Hockey Schedule - 18 years ago
it may seem like fewer since we play michigan state twice and niagara twice... that's four games right there. then there are the 2 florida games (can't wait!!!) and RIT. Not much diversity... but as keith mentioned, our late start doesn't help scheduling since most other leagues are into conference play by the first week of november. ritaby Rita - Hockey

and as the clock strikes 4, i'm reminded about the best thing about trader joe's.... big blocks of ghiradelli chocolate for ~ $1.50 each. ymmmmm. perfect for keeping in your office when the afternoon sugar low hits.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Frozen Four at Ford Field? - 19 years ago
lafayette indiana... hockey hell, but food purgatory... there is a TJ's is only ~ 50 minutes (or 35 if i drive like the other hoosiers who think I-65 is the time trial track for the indy 500) from my non-direct tv friendly, but pet friendly apt. tj's was one of my favorite west coast things.. good wine, beer and cheese and all reasonably priced.by Rita - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
I thought the other briggs son was on the mercyhurst lakers, and thus they were doing the worcester-minneapolis commute. i'm pretty sure the graphic they put up indicated worcester. but i wouldn't be surprised if the tv announcers got that wrong.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Minnesota post game thread - 19 years ago
start saving $$ and submit your request for vacation time now. with the nc$$ its more than possible.... too bad the wcha can't lobby the nc$$ to do a "flip-flop" and put this year's FF in the pepsi arena and the 2008 (??) in columbus. but then again, travel expenses shouldn't be much of a problem if the participating conferences, oops conference, get the majority of the ff revenuby Rita - Hockey

Re: MINNESOTA SUCKS - 19 years ago
Yes, MINNESOTA DOES SUCK!! (hey i need to direct all my anti-yankee anger somewhere else now that the sox have finally won a world series, and the gophers are as "deserving" a team as any). I admit, I was getting nervous at the end of the game with o'byrne on the ice. that last sequence o'byrne had a chance to play the puck without a gopher right on him, but he opted to try and getby Rita - Hockey

Re: Denver-UNH 1-1 end of 1st - 19 years ago
just went to intermission. now time to get an update on the denver's radio's guys exploits to the men's room and like delta-one, I agree... a wcha dominated frozen four would not be very much fun.by Rita - Hockey

Re: Cornell 3 Ohio State 2, Postgame Thread - 19 years ago
Al, where are you? if i was anywhere near wchu's broadcast range i would have been in the car. Or i would have been in my car with my laptop until i found a town/location with power and "unsecured" wi-fi access. Of course this would have been done while i was screaming at the top of my lungs about how unfair this was and how some heads are going to roll. here's hoping the power sby Rita - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Ohio State 2, Postgame Thread - 19 years ago
did anyone else get a laugh out of the tv broadcasters who, after osu's 2nd goal, said that cornell needed to "change its whole mindset"? bull. if they had just read a little bit about this team, they would know that cornell is where it is because of their work ethic, their patience and their commitment to defense. with the way they play, they will get opportunites, they just need to caby Rita - Hockey
