Re: Cornell @ Colgate Postgame 2/4 - 18 years ago
Pegs had *such* a wide open net. A very pretty goal. McCutcheon with another big TV goal (very much like the goal vs. Q from Lynah). The game didn't seem as physical as I thought it would be and that is based on the comments about last night's game. However, I did like the energy that the Barlow-Scott-Kennedy line provided. Samela got off some nice shots from the point. They were not hby Rita - Hockey

Re: Cornell 1 Colgate 0 (2nd period) - 18 years ago
On a positive note, in Florida the Big Red was without Sasha and Jon Gleed, and Glover for most of the 2nd game. With OB being the "experienced one", the young D corp played quite well. No OB tonight, but Gleed is back, and Glover is still in the game. So hopefully the young D can draw on that experience. Seminoff taking a 2 min break in the sin bin.by Rita - Hockey

Re: colgate video status - 18 years ago
I'm at work with High speed connections. I tuned in ~ 5 min into the game and it was choppy, I thought it was because I also had other applications open and was scrolling through ELF. Then I saw that I was not alone. Apparently they have not worked out all the bugs. Pre-2nd period skate choppy and audio cut out. I could live with the choppy video, just keep the audio straight.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 0 (1st period) - 18 years ago
Could someone post in a new thread or with new subject line when video is up and stable?? I don't have a second computer available and will be attempting to multi-task while listening. It would be easier to see that it is up in a new thread/subject line rather than digging through the thread. Thanks! Re: Ithaca Journal on Lynah Renovations - 18 years ago
Well, "outdoor" games are all the rage now. What about at Schollkopf? (I know it is spelled wrong, can I nominate it for addition to the spelling guide?). Then the Michigans and Minnesotas can't complain about the small size of the arena and gate revenue.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Lynah not ready for fall opener? - 18 years ago
I have played some rec games (women's hockey) at the fairgrounds in the 1990's. The locker rooms that we used at the fairgrounds would make the visitor locker room at Lynah seem like a 3-star facility. It is really gross just thinking about those locker rooms. Yuck.by Rita - Hockey

RatushnyFanCool, he was also +2 and played 15 minutes. He is now tied with Dan Ratushny with 1 NHL point (though Dan accomplished the feat in 1 game). Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Doug and Dan are the only Cornell players to suit up in the NHL??????? Perhaps I'm missing someone from the 60's or 70's but I can't find it on hockeydb.com. Do you mean Cornell defensemen? Because, jusby Rita - Hockey
Re: Grammar - 18 years ago
The February 3, 2006 "GET FUZZY" comic strip explains "Bucky Katt's" view on grammar. I apologize for adding to the thread drift, but I found this "Get Fuzzy" comic strip particularly amusing in light of the recent grammar discussion on ELF.by Rita - Hockey

Re: Guaranteed ECAC Title vs Guaranteed NCAA Advance - 18 years ago
Section A BansheeThe question is often posed, would you rather have a team that is consistantly dominant for years at a time but never wins national titles, or one that wins a national title and then has a stretch of really awful years afterward. I will always choose the first one. The in-game experiences mean more to me than notches in the belt. Are you, perhaps, a fan of the Atlanta Braves?by Rita - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Colgate Viewing Parties - 18 years ago
Unfortunately, those were not the winning numbers in last night's PowerBall (or Hoosier Lottery) drawing. Financing for an ice hockey rink in West Lafayette, IN will have to wait until at least Saturday 2/4/06.by Rita - Hockey

Re: Colgate is going to have a "whiteout" Sat night. Should we have a red out for the game friday night? - 18 years ago
I think it was NFL FILMS PRESENTS that did a recent show on college football (or maybe it was on the fans) and had "The Game" featured and the video of the Hahvahd fans holding up the "We Suck" boards. It was late at night and I was channel surfing when I saw the segment. Quite an amazing feat. I hope I can catch the episode being repeated some time soon.by Rita - Hockey
Re: picture needed - hahvahd fish toss - 18 years ago
well since this is the ot forum ... The "hahvahd" spelling came in handy with a crossword puzzle I am working on. The theme is a quote with a Boston reference. The end of the quote is "... hahd to pahk my cah in hahvahd yahd". Yes, the "R's" are indeed replaced with "H's" in the puzzle. It is slow going, I usually can only get 5-10 clues done before I faby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell - Colgate, Lafayette IN - 18 years ago
BUMP: and.... The Lafayette IN viewing party will be at the Buffalo Wild Wings on the Levee in West Lafayette. We have the flat screen tv in the bar area reserved for the game. No fancy things to raffle off, but plenty of stares from the other patrons as they wonder "what the heck are they watching on TV? It looks like some sport, but they aren't using an orange ball? hmmm." Letby Rita - Hockey
Re: Yale - Cornell post-game - 18 years ago
Do the "woofing gods" read minds? I was listening to the game at work while doing a somewhat repetitive task and by the third period my mind started to wander. I was thinking "Gosh, it is only a one goal came, but it feels ok. Cornell seems to have most of the momentum and are controlling the play. I wish they would get another goal, but I think they will hang on to this lead."by Rita - Hockey
