Re: Cornell v Union - 2 months ago
ugarte Posting the game thread early to note that the womens' QF is pushing the start time for the Union game back to 7:30. And would also put it closer to the start of the basketball game at Pennby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2024 Discussion Thread - 2 months ago
I said in another thread that I thought Dartmouth would be in contention for home ice in the first round but I never thought they'd actually sniff a bye. If it weren't for Harder's work at Colgate, Cashman would have a good case for ECAC coach of the year.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: 2023-24 MEN'S SCHEDULE - 2 months ago
ursusminor Is the 24-25 ECAC non-travel partner schedule available? Historically, Jim Hula has posted it on January 1. I know that Jim had personal problems a year ago, but since I do not know him, I an not aware of the current situation or if someone else has access to it. A fairly reputable source told me that Cornell at Yale (and by extension at Brown) will be in February next year. Can'by Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky marty Chris '03 Something not related to hand wringing over PWR: Check out the third period box from Alaska last night. Not sure I've seen "persisting in misconduct" before. Let's go to the video!"Scouts?" Here's everything from the networkby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ St. Lawrence, 2/24 - 2 months ago
Someone needs to capture all the homer highlights for the laughs. I don't think I've ever heard a crew implode as hard during a gameby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ St. Lawrence, 2/24 - 2 months ago
These announcers are something else. They never fail to bring out their homerism when upsetby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Clarkson, 2/23 - 2 months ago
Kraft hits the post from basically point blank. For all the lack of positonal movement, there were still some very high-quality chances on that PPby Iceberg - Hockey

scoop85 Making his achievements even more impressive is that English is his second language. Swedes, like other Scandinavians and their German and Dutch counterparts in Europe, are very proficient English speakers. If it were someone from places where English is not taught as well or as commonly in schools, like Brazil, then it would be another storyby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Yale at Cornell, 2/17 - 2 months ago
Yale obviously trying to pressure as much as they can on the forecheck. They were caught on the tying goal, but this is clearly not the same opponent as yesterdayby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 2 months ago
BearLover Getting no help from Minn-Duluth. They are already down 2-0 to Denver. (We played UMD twice so we care about them for SOS, plus if they sweep Denver it opens up a very outside chance that Denver goes into a tailspin and drops below us in the rankings.) A local bar had that game on one of the televisions and Duluth just looks much slower and less fluid than Cornell. Denver is clearly aby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Brown vs. Cornell 2/16 - 2 months ago
Someone mentioned it in another thread, but the fact that Whittet is still employed is amazing. He must have some really good blackmail on somebody in the Brown administration because I don't know how he's lasted as long as he hasby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Brown vs. Cornell 2/16 - 2 months ago
dbilmes Cornell can clinch the Ivy title with a sweep this weekend. I was wondering about this but that makes sense given that most games have been played and the Ivy teams outside of Cornell haven't been very greatby Iceberg - Hockey
Brown vs. Cornell 2/16 - 2 months ago
I don't really know what to think of this matchup but if it goes anything like the last time, that would be niceby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 2 months ago
Local Motion Who needs an indoor practice facility other than this recent snow storm (not even a big storm) both NYC and Ithaca have enjoyed a very mild winter. By the way, since I was a kid, Upstate has always been anywhere north of Yankee Stadium, although in reality it's probably the Tappan Zee Bridge (now the Mario Cuomo Bridge) on Route 87. I find it hilarious that one could even jokinby Iceberg - Other Sports

Did that noob color guy really say that Cornell wears cherry?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ RPI, 2/9 - 2 months ago
Could've been greater than 2-0 given the quality of chances. Watson made a lot of good saves on multiple dangerous opportunitiesby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ RPI, 2/9 - 2 months ago
617BigRed Coming out from Boston this weekend for first time at RPI & Union games, anyone else gonna be out there? Get some Red fans at each game usually? Does the band come out? "funk album" was not what was expecting to come after 70s haha... The capital district has a decent amount of alums. When I lived in Albany, I went to Troy twice and there was always a fair turnoutby Iceberg - Hockey

I would think it would be in our best interests for BU to win the Beanpot, no?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Men’s Basketball 23-24 - 2 months ago
Mr. Niss I don't understand Ken Pom, in particular how Yale is ranked so much ahead of us at 15-6 while we're 17-3. They've beaten nobody but Princeton. The have a couple of terrible losses. Their games against top teams aren't any better than ours. Basketball version of Quint Kessenich?by Iceberg - Other Sports
Re: Clarkson at Cornell, 2/3 - 2 months ago
Refs definitely lost control of the game to an extent. Lack of consistency on the head hitsby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell, 2/3 - 2 months ago
If they're going to eject Psenicka for the softest brushby contact ever, I can't imagine that they don't do anything for actual significant head contact hereby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell, 2/3 - 2 months ago
That might be the softest ejection I've ever seenby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence at Cornell, 2/2 - 2 months ago
BearLover Here are some actual observations about the game. I missed most of the game so my comments may be off-base; I can really only speak with respect to what I was able to see: —man, pretty brutal for Jack O’Brien to finally get into the lineup and then on maybe his first shift have the forward score on him. He wasn’t out of position but as ViewfromK said, he probably needed to play the StLby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Yet another collegetown bar bites the dust - 2 months ago
I can't recall all the details about bars and door people but ~10 years ago, Level B was always the place that people who were underaged would avoid from what I personally saw and heard. Dunbar's was in the middle I would say with a certain other place that no longer exists being perhaps the most lenient.by Iceberg - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth, 1/27 - 2 months ago
Dafatone I'm kinda stuck here, because on one hand I tend to be relatively optimistic, but on the other hand I somehow hate Dartmouth more than Harvard. I always found the games against Dartmouth to be contentious affairs and often more exciting that the games against Harvard the night before or after. With Gaudet behind the bench, you would figure some kind of shenanigans would happen either bby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth, 1/27 - 3 months ago
It's too bad that puck bounced on Mack in the OT because there was a lot of open net after that reboundby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth, 1/27 - 3 months ago
billhoward No offense, Dartmouth, but: It's 7 pm. Your house not ours. There appear to be more people warming up on the ice than sitting in the stands. At least their band is there. That rink never really fills up unless it's the one game against Princeton where students throw tennis balls on the iceby Iceberg - Hockey
