Re: Any word on McKee's nagging injury? - 18 years ago
This thread drift makes me cry I did see something of interest to this topic in the hotel in Wisconsin, but I'll wait for Schafer to announce anything if he wants. I can't imagine it's a big deal (and what I saw could be a really minor thing) but I wouldn't want people to stal... I mean notice every injury I have and report it to a large forum. And I am not accepting any PMs for details.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Possible Teams That May Sign McKee - 18 years ago
2tkCornellSome possible teams that may sign McKee. What do you think? 1. New York Islanders 2. Tampa Bay 4. Colorado 4. Washington 5. Anaheim 6. Nashville Are these just off the top of your head? Isn't Dallas on that list too?by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Wisconsin postgame thread (post-season thread?) NCAA quarterfinals 2006 - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81calgARI '07 The majority of icings come as a result of missed passes and stupid dump-ins. The red line idiot cheer is just as stupid as telling a goalie it's all his fault and sieve, etc. when he gets scored on when his players leave him out to dry. Ari's gotcha there. An icing is more likely to be a mistake than a goal is to be all the goalie's fault. Perhaps more importantly, iby Tub(a) - Hockey

nyc94ithacatHayekAnyone know the link to where the eBadger forum is? Be warned: there are some less than flattering comments made regarding Cornell fans. For the most part respect leads to respect. Remember, every board has its (lordy, let that not be me...) I kind of agree with them that "red line, idiot" isn't as meaningful if the player intentionally ices the puck - unless tby Tub(a) - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82RitaNext question: Where to stay? Does anyone have any leads (preferably with free internet)? The Best Western right near the arena is all booked. It does seem that the hockey rink-Resch Center is right next door to "The Frozen Tundra". So that settles the "what to do on Sunday morning question", at least for me . They have stadium tours on Sunday March 2by Tub(a) - Hockey

jtwcornell91Tub(a)2nd straight year that CC gets some sort of favorable manipulation to stay west somewhere while Cornell gets nothing. The committee decided it was better to accomodate the 10th seeded CC than the 6th and 8th seeded Miami and Cornell. They couldn't pair 10 with 7 in the first round because they're in the same conference. Yeah, I initially didn't notice this. It makes more sby Tub(a) - Hockey

Re: NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket Selection Show - 18 years ago
That's the direct link to the Resch Center order page for this event. I bought tix about 10 minutes ago and they were already heading for the nether regions of the rink (last row corner upper deck). You might want to do this if you don't feel comfortable waiting for the Cornell alottment to go on sale Monday.by Tub(a) - Hockey

Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81Rita Jayson's bracket swaps Cornell and Miami and also puts BC in Worcester. That would certainly ensure a very good take at the gate. However, it does go against keeping 1-16, 2-15 etc bracket integrity. If the committee is concerned about attendance at Worcester, wouldn't be easier to swap Neb-Omaha (14) with either Maine or UNH (12, 13)? Yeah, fat chance. We're going to Green Bayby Tub(a) - Hockey

Michigan Northeast (Worcester) 3. BU vs. 14. Neb.-Omaha 6. Miami vs. 11. Boston College East (Albany) 4. Michigan State vs. 13. UNH 5. Harvard vs. 12. Maineby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
bigred06The remaining 12 teams are then "banded" into groups of four, corresponding to Seed Nos. 2-4. An attempt will first be made to keep teams closest to their home region, but there is an emphasis on avoiding first-round intra-conference matchups. Factors such as maximizing gate revenue, and limiting travel costs can also be taken into consideration. As a result, seeds can be flip-by Tub(a) - Hockey

Thanks. Good to see CN8 pick up some games, including the Green Bay final. I do believe they stream their video free online...by Tub(a) - Hockey

Hmm.. one of CHN or USCHO is wrong, because they are giving VERY different results. I put my money on CHN... EDIT: I am using CHN's YATCby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
Al DeFlorioI think they're ignoring the bonus. May the selection committee follow their infinite wisdom This is what the bonus-free bracket would look like: Green Bay: Wisc Miami CC Bemidji Albany (I think it is closer to MSU than Grand Forks): MSU UND Michigan Holy Cross Grand Forks: Minnesota Harvard BC SCSU Worcester: Cornell BU UNO UNH (revenge!!)by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
With 33/22/11 and UND winning----- Green Bay: Wisc Cornell Miami Bemidji Worcester: Harvard UND Michigan Holy Cross Grand Forks: Minny BU UNO Maine Albany: CC MSU UNH BC The only problem is that BU needs to be in Worcester and UND needs to be in Grand Forks. Fortunately, they can easily flip. So: Green Bay: Wisc Cornell Miami Bemidji Worcester:by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
upperdeckwhy do the TV guys sat it comes down to wooster or albany? what are they seeing different? Are they talking about Cornell? If so they might be forgetting to add in a bonus. Any reasonable bonus puts Cornell west. They also might not have updated the BU win yet.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
The higher the bonus goes, the higher Harvard goes. Harvard is number one overall and Cornell stays east in their bracket as number 9 if the bonus is 6/4/2 or higher.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
BU wins. Without any bonus, a Cornell loss puts them at 4th in the PWR regardless of the WCHA result. In other words, in an entirely objective system, Cornell is a number one seed and Harvard is not. 33/22/11 or 3/2/1 Cornell loss is 8th in Green Bay playing Miami in the first round regardless of the WCHA result. Harvard is a 1 seed in either of these bonuses.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 4 - 18 years ago
imafrshmnTo some extent, you have to hand to to HU. It's evident that they've been hell-bent on scoring goals. It will just suck for the ECACHL when they lose to some scrub in the first round of the NCAA tournamentby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 5 - 18 years ago
upperdeckmaybe it isnt much,, but the fact we have played from behind all night and taking chances yet not giving up any even strength stuff is a good sign.. we wont give up 5 PP goals next week even on a bad night.. harvard has generated very little even strength stuff.. You spoke too soonby Tub(a) - Hockey

Jacob '06With results from the CCHA and AH games, it leaves this: REGIONAL CU win UND win BU win Albany BU lose Albany UND lose BU win Worcester BU lose Worcester CU lose UND win BU win Albany BU lose Albany UND lose BU win Green Bay BU lose Green Bay So the BU/BC doesn't matter, but we really want UND to win if we lose.
