Discussions about sports other than hockey
Re: - 21 years ago
Isn't that a microcosm of the way things have been working: Concerned Citizen (Age): What is happening to our economy? Administration Stump (RedFan): Iraq is going to destroy us all! Off topic discussions are quite alright on this board, you probably could have assumed that this topic was not about hockey from the subject line. If it's only hockey you are interested in, don't read the off topicby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Colgate's Band - 21 years ago
Nothing like admitting you tried to incite someone, and then trying to incite them with a different approach (Cornell WAS my safety school). Must be that excellent Colgate education that I have heard so much aboutby Tub(a) - Hockey

I assume that was before "Remote Control Goalie" mutated into "Bend Over Goalie"by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Bus to Colgate - 21 years ago
Well, the Pep Band is going, but you can't really call us organizedby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Underhill gone - 21 years ago
Here is my best guess: Much like NHLers sign a two-way contract (can be sent to AHL and vice versa), minor leaguers can sign a two-way contract, moving between AHL and ECHL, UHL, etc.. If a player is a member of an NHL affiliated team he is not necessarily property of that NHL team. Does anyone know if Underhill is indeed property of the Bruins?by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Pelletier - 21 years ago
Boucher fell victim to a common malady of NHL goalies. He had a great rookie season because no one knew the book on him. Once people found out his weaknesses, he was less effective. Keep Burke, the one who can win consistently, and has been winning for years in the NHL. Pelletier can't be more than 2 years away and Lenny is not too far away on the horizon.by Tub(a) - Hockey

The Sabres are only 12 points out of 8th, and moving up fast.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Why you (as a fan) should behave at a hockey game - 21 years ago
Please Chips, the Colgate Band takes great offense to such nasty terms as those uttered in the Swanee cheer. You did not beat them, you merely showed a more positive ability to succeed in beer pong than them.by Tub(a) - Hockey

That was in the season of their last of four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, 1993.by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
as you said "the games are won on the ice." so, to be "objective," the only stat you need is: Cornell 5 Harvard 2by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: off topic - worm warning - 21 years ago
I've experienced the same thing, not just on the older iMacs hanging around, but on some brand spanking new machines in the music library. Besides, gaming is much better on a PCby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Why I said - 21 years ago
I'm pretty sure that it is just earmarked for the Pep Band and put into the account, that it is not "funneled" through athletics. In other words, they don't get any of the money. I think (but do not know) that the Teagle Hall address may just be a mailbox. This should not discourage you from supporting the band if you desire to. Correct me if I am wrong Lowell. Re: Guelph at home? - 21 years ago
The team Cornell occasionally faces is no other then the University of Guelph Griffons www.uoguelph.ca Guelph is actually a very pleasant city of about 100,000 people located 2 hours west of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. If you ever have the chance to visit, I strongly recommend talking to Dino in his sports shop downtown. Learn more about Guelph at www.city.guelph.on.caby Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: "Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie!" - 21 years ago
We cannot 'play faster.' The song will sound crappy then. Are you truly doing this because it's 'fun,' or are you doing it to be seen and heard at a social event? That's something you have to answer for yourself. And please, keep in mind, while perhaps you and your group of 15 or so are having a blast doing it, 3,000 other people think it's stupid and should stop. Grant TUBA '05by Tub(a) - Hockey
Re: Hansen is horrible. . . - 21 years ago
I think that Hansen saw the Cornell player push the BU player into LeNevue, and saw nothing after that until the goal. If this is all he saw, he was correct in his call. If he saw the BU player holding LeNevue to the ground and ignored it because he was pushed there, then he was incorrect.by Tub(a) - Hockey
