While I think it's clear the Freshman are Courtney's best recruiting class, in my view the team will need to show progress -- forget wins and losses -- to be deserving of returning next year. Al DeFlorio Chris '03 Dake wins. And who were the two assholes who voted for Ruth? Edit: I guess it was the Penn State tribe who voted for Ruth in the public poll, proving that public polls are dumb...especially when one can vote at will. Yep, that's how I read the story as well; Dake was unanimous except for the public poll. Maybe the Hodge Committee will see this as evidence that the pubby mountainred - Other Sports

Even the "not looking great" guys have a shot: Stryker Lane, if healthy, should make the NCAA. He's one of the top four in the EIWA at Hvy and the top four go. Shanaman has a shot at 157, where the top 5 go and he's ranked #6. Dixon has to make the finals at 133, but he's beaten the #2 guy in the league. I have no clue what may happen at 174.by mountainred - Other Sports
Re: Brown 84 Cornell 65 - 11 years ago
No Miller (likely out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury) and no Jon Gray for reasons unknown. Without them, especially Miller, they just aren't competitive in the league. Cressler looked pretty good, so SG is set for the next three years.by mountainred - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football unofficial recruits list - 11 years ago
Falk is an interesting story. Super prospect as a Soph with an offer to Florida State (and others), he transfers from his Utah school to a California high school power. But he struggles in California, losing his starting gig and his big time offers. Goes back home and puts up huge numbers.by mountainred - Other Sports

Josh '99 CAS Hoops final last nite from the PalestraI don't want to take any win at the Palestra for granted, but it's worth noting that Penn is miserable this year. True, but it's still a win in the Palestra. Penn wasn't any good in 2010 and we lost there.by mountainred - Other Sports

Jim Hyla Josh '99 Swampy nyc94 ACC votes to add Louisville and sues Maryland to get the full $50 million exit fee. Brett McMurphy (ESPN) The ACC also considered UConn and Cincinnati for membership. However, sources told ESPN the league only wanted Louisville because there is a sense among league presidents that the ACC can add more schools at a later date if the ACC lost any other schools.by mountainred - Other Sports

It's been quiet on this little section of elynah. Since the last post, the Red dropped a winnable game to St. Peters, were blasted by Wisconsin, gave away a first half lead against Arizona St. (23 turnovers), blew out a dreadful Presbyterian, and held on to beat a very poor Longwood team. Beating Presby and Longwood apparently counts as a tournament win of Continental Tire blah, blah, blah subrby mountainred - Other Sports

scoop85 CUontheslopes Cressler seems to be that Whittman-like pure shooter that the team has been missing since Ryan left. Courtney was quoted as saying that earlier in the week in practice he went 11-12. Not to jump to conclusions, but boy did his shot look similar to Wittman's -- lightning-quick release, and just great form. Looks like a player in all respects. Adam is a good call Hillel. Gore was 2006 ROY, tore his ACL late in game one of his sophomore season (opening the door for another great guard, Louis Dale) and was never quite the same. He certainly could have qualified for a fifth year and been part of the 2010 team, but he was so tired of rehab that he moved on with the rest of his life (and opened the door for early PT for Wrobo).by mountainred - Other Sports

css228 nyc94 Ben nyc94 ugarte Hey Harvard, welcome to the 13 seed. This isn't going to help. Only appropriate reaction: On an even better note, we're now 10-12, 5-3 in Ivy play. Johnny Gray had a very good weekend and His 'Ski-ness is scoring again. Harvard loses to Penn 55-54 at home. They are now 10-2, Penn is 9-2.
