Need a greater sense of urgency on our power play. Wasted way too much of the 5-minute major.by George64 - Hockey

Ken711 Syracuse just fired their head coach Dino Barbers. Maybe he wants to stay in upstate NY. Babers was 19-7 at Eastern Illinois and 18-9 at Bowling Green. Might be a good fit at Cornell.by George64 - Other Sports

George64 Cornell football, under David Archer, is now assured of yet another losing season even if we beat Columbia (by no means a given). Archer should now do the right thing and resign. In PR-speak “to pursue other career options.” Like I said, “by no means a given.” Archer needs to pursue other career options.by George64 - Other Sports

ugarte mike1960 A real chance at victory today, my friends.damn this is a rough first post to see as i've been watching the game while typing up the wrestling season preview and right after the columbia backup qb ran for a 65-yard touchdown, flat outrunning the defensive backs. at least while i was typing this columbia took a point off the board when they accepted an offsides call on the xp thenby George64 - Other Sports

19-0. Until today, Columbia has averaged 14 points per game.by George64 - Other Sports
Re: Wrestling 2023-24 - 6 months ago
dag14 Cornell blows away Sacred Heart 48-3 -- 45 minutes from start to finish including intros and national anthem. No match at 125, no halftime, and barely any breaks between matches. And Arujau didn’t wrestle. If he did, it would have been 54-0.by George64 - Other Sports

Dafatone The C looks too dark to me when it's on the ice. Reminds me of Colgate. Easily remedied - take a jersey down to Home Depot, they match colors very well.by George64 - Hockey

Trotsky George64 I agree with her on the logo. What did she say? (Please tell me she wants to go back to Domestic Violence Bear, and that she will shitcan @yellcornell.) Nothing about @yellcornell. She said that that our branding is evolving and the block C is our main logo, but others remain in the “palette.” She seemed very conscious of our extramural appearance. Trotsky George64 Trotsky Where dat at? Don’t know, I streamed it live. Cornell Hockey 401: The history, art, and science of ice hockey at Cornell, with Nicki, Mike, Doug and Corey. I expect it will available later. What did you think of Moore? I like her. We’ve had more AD communications in the year or so that she’s been on the job, than in Noel’s entire tenure. I agree with her on the logoby George64 - Hockey

Great, informative hockey webinar this afternoon. If you’re one of those unfortunates that had to work, hope that it’s available to stream later. Among other things, Mike mentioned that one of our guys was injured this weekend and had emergency surgery. Any one know who it is?by George64 - Hockey

nshapiro George64 Trotsky Al DeFlorioHis complaint with admissions was having to deal with separate admissions offices for each undergraduate school. Let's change the basic structure of the university to accommodate sportsball. In the ‘60s, when checking out graduate schools, I looked through The OSU course catalogue. Local Motion As I have stated before.............regardless of the coach we hire changes need to be made with the Big Red football team from the stadium to the issues with admissions and financial aid. Otherwise the new coach will last three years and we are right back to where we started. Are you suggesting that we become the 15th member of the Big 10? scoop85 Not only was it great to see a full building last night, but from the comfort of my couch I thought the crowd was as loud as I’ve heard it lately for a non-Harvard game. Important not only for our team, but I have to think that our prospective recruits watch our games on ESPN+.by George64 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Jerseys? - 6 months ago
I pity the players that had to wear these jerseys during their Cornell careers. As I recall, they were designed by a Hum Ec class. The instructor should have been fired. For those too young to know, or too old to remember - that’s Bob Murray ‘74 and David Groulx ‘76. Oops, Bill Murray ‘74.by George64 - Hockey

rss77 As an undegrad in the late 70s I think you have it wrong about Corson. He would attend Cornell road football games and other Cornell sporting events. Going back to the Ben Bluitt days coaching basketball-Bluitt would hold post game gatherings open to the public and I rembember Corson being at some of those sessions. Getting back to the conditions Seifert dealt would suggest that one readby George64 - Other Sports

wintercow20 Hey all, Took my son to his first game at Lynah last week against Duluth and he's hooked. Only "problem" is that they sell no merch at the rink, and we had to rush home. Do you guys know where I can buy a decent replica Cornell hockey jersey online? Thanks all, Mike Rizzo '04 (grad student) A friend suggested that you tryby George64 - Hockey

Local Motion Andy also fought hard to keep Hoy Field on campus, but Martha Pollack won that battle. Nothing happens on the East Hill without the support of Day Hall. Cornell’s 2008 Master Plan proposes academic buildings on Hoy Field, so Andy was fighting an uphill battle.by George64 - Other Sports

Swampy George64 CAS During Pollack’s presidency, applications for admission & yield have reached new highs, & admit rates record lows. The last two years were the best fundraising years in Cornell’s history. And Cornell is planning to build the new indoor athletics facility. Re: Cornell football 2023 - 6 months ago
jmeaneyjrSeifert got only two years which was too short. Archer has had 11 with zero plus .500 seasons, In a word, that is ridiculous! I’ve always thought that Seifert was let go because Bob Blackman, who was very successful at Dartmouth, had a losing record at Illinois and became available. However, even he had a losing record at Cornell, but not at all comparable to Archer’s. Hopefully, nby George64 - Other Sports
