Re: Lax vs. Hobart - 12 years ago
There actually is a break in the schedule following the Annual Tuesday Syracuse game (14th of April), but whether that game is 'worth playing' from our perspective at that time of the season is questionable.by semsox - Other Sports
Re: Lacrosse 2012 - 12 years ago
Al DeFlorio semsox reported a 10-3 Cornell halftime lead in the Hopkins scrimmage this afternoon. Another report said Rob Pannell is not playing. Sure would like to see a scrimmage report here on eLynah. Wish I had more to report, but my own information was just second hand from Twitter and other places one might find little tidbits. I too am anxiously awaiting any more details from the scriby semsox - Other Sports

Re: Lacrosse 2012 - 12 years ago
jtn27 The Long Island Lizzards took Rob Pannell first overall in the MLL draft today. The Rochester Rattlers took Roy Lang 11th overall. Other Ivy Leaguers taken are Princeton's Chad Wiedmaier (7th, Hamilton Nationals), Princeton's Fiorto (10th, Chesapeak Bayhawks), and Harvard's Kevin Vaugh (14th, Denver Outlaws). Great news fo Pannell and Lang. I don't really know anything about the MLL thoby semsox - Other Sports

phillysportsfan American loss doesnt look so bad today, American has won its last 6 against relatively weak competition but tonight beat a top 100 St Joes team that has been playing very well Not to mention our own top 100 team that we beat this weekend, which was coming off of 6 straight wins, the last 5 by double digits.by semsox - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball 71 (screw) BU 66 - 12 years ago
mountainred Disappointing result in Delaware. I couldn't watch the game, but from the box Coach C seems to have established a 7 man rotation: 4 guards, Eitan/Josh in the post and Miller. Unfortunately, the Big Red couldn't shoot (37.5% from the field) and couldn't rebound the missed shots (7 offensive rebounds on 40 missed shots). Not a good combination. Did anyone watch the game and seeby semsox - Other Sports
Re: The Answer's 3rd Straight Shutout (Niagara Postgame) - 12 years ago
Ben Al DeFlorio Harvard nips UHN 7-6 and AIC(!) shuts out Brown 3-0. After being 4-0 down, as well. Yale lost at Sacred Heart 7-6, despite only facing 19 shots. As amusing as it is seeing these kinds of results, it is not a good thing for the league. Yale losing to a winless Sacred Heart team is embarrassing.by semsox - Hockey

Re: Lax All-Americans - 12 years ago
ben03 the right player won the Tewaaraton ... it's awarded for the entirety of the season. Stanwick ended our season and won a NC ... pretty simple - he wins. Based on past Tewaaraton winners, it's no surprise Stanwick won. The player of the year award that's awarded based on the whole season is the Ray Enners award, Which Pannell won. The Tewaaraton might as well be retitled and given to theby semsox - Other Sports

Al DeFlorio Latest on the Rhamel Bratton situation in the Baltimore Sun: I'll be very surprised if he doesn't play. Prepare to be surprised. Won't be activated this weekend, per Starsia.by semsox - Other Sports
Re: NCAA Lax scores - 13 years ago
Ronald '09 Greenberg '97 This weather delay is going to screw up our TV coverage... I'm pretty sure there should at least be coverage on espn3.com. Hopefully they start it on ESPNews or ESPN Classic at least also. Preferably ESPNews since it's in HD. I don't think there is any scheduled ESPN3 coverage unfortunately.by semsox - Other Sports
Re: Tewaaraton Finalists - 13 years ago
I read somewhere yesterday that Pannell's year is so good that it's hard to not be overly critical of the other candidates. I mean, don't get me wrong, most of these players are having terrific years, but they all really pale in comparison to Pannell. Boltus is probably most deserving of 2nd, but his team didn't even make the field. White is probably not even the best LSM this year (Karalunas)by semsox - Other Sports

Re: Cornell lacrosse in 2011 - 13 years ago
Ronald '09 Delaware upset Hofstra in the CAA semifinals. That's their second loss to Delaware this season. The Fighting Blue Hens will meet Massachusetts at Amherst in the CAA finals Saturday, meaning either Delaware or Massachusetts will get the CAA's automatic bid. If Hofstra still gets an at large bid, this could significant hurt Penn's chances at an at large bid. I doubt Hofstra makes itby semsox - Other Sports

Re: Lacrosse 2011 polls - 13 years ago
Al DeFlorio billhoward Our win over Yale moves Cornell up 2 spots to No. 10 in the USILA poll. Four Ivies in the USILA top 20: 10 Cornell, 13 Penn, 18 Harvard, 19 Yale. Princeton at 1-4 is down to being an also-mentioned after an 8-3 loss at Penn, its first in 22 P vs. P games. Inside Lacrosse/Nike poll has us at No. 7, tomorrow's opponent, Stony Brook, at No. 10. Re: Cornell vs. Hobart lax - 13 years ago
Most encouraging part of the game was Fiore's play and offensive production from the midfield. Pannell got his, but relatively quiet games from Mock and Bremner. Something needs to be done about face-offs. I don't know who it's going to be, but if we keep having face-off performances like that we will get smoked by some of the better teams.by semsox - Other Sports

semsox Red_laxfan77 I heard that Mumford didn't play any defense in either the Colgate and Hopkins scrimmage. In the team roster, he is no longer listed. What's up? Laxpower Cornell thread is claiming a knee injury knocked him out for the year. Not sure why this would remove him from the roster though unless it's some sort of eligibility related thing... dbilmes I was going to go to this game, but decided not to at the last minute. I'm glad I was spared the sight of the lucky-to-win Yalies storming the court at the end of the game. Please tell me they didn't actually storm the court....by semsox - Other Sports

Re: CU's 2010-2011 Schedule - 13 years ago
ajh258 IronFist UQTR is a damn good program at the CIS level. They have been dominant in the OUA and were ranked 3rd in the CIS Top 10 at the end of last season. A 66-12-4-2 regular season record over the last three years is nothing to sneeze at, even if the CIS isn't on par with NCAA Division I hockey. While Les Patriotes probably won't beat Cornell in October, they aren't a team to take lightlyby semsox - Hockey
Re: Bill Gates Hall > goodbye Hoy Field? - 13 years ago
ajh258 It's a horrible space for an additional building - not enough parking space and a bit removed from the Eng Quad. They could have spent the money rebuilding the Eng Library or renovating Olin Hall (Chem Eng) and then renamed it after Gates if he wanted to. I don't see how we need more space considering Duffield was just built and more Engs stay in their rooms anyways. If they weren't renoby semsox - Other Sports
