Re: Exhibitions - 5 years ago
With 10 defense men probably can only dress 6 or 7 for each game - I would assume Ryan is coming along at a pace that is best for him. Team looked good in their shooting and offensive zone passing. Shots in the game were 36 - 20 in our favor I believe and we had at least two posts and a crossbar that I saw at the scoreboard end of the rink. We had a bit of edge in team speed definitely.by profudge - Hockey

The women win in a good game 5-2 and looked really good for a large part of the game against the visiting Buffalo Beauts. The crowd was small but enthusiastic and the band was loud and fun! P.S. The free T-shirts are much appreciated! P.P.S. Next Saturday 20th of October is the Red and White scrimmage - -by profudge - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - Where are They - 5 years ago
Bettman was labeled a loser after 1st day of free agency in ESPN online commentary. And in other news: ESPN News service The Columbus Blue Jackets signed center Riley Nash to a three-year deal to replenish some of the depth they lost when Matt Calvert signed with Colorado. Terms were not disclosed, but the deal is worth $8.25 million, according to multiple reports.by profudge - Hockey
Re: Where are our Alumni Playing Now - 6 years ago
And Riley Nash has a short recovery: ESPN posting from AP article Center Riley Nash didn't travel a day after needing more than 40 stitches in his ear, head and neck after getting hit with a puck during the game against the Panthers. He could rejoin the team for games in Tampa Bay and Florida this week.by profudge - Hockey

Agreed Larry, Union has great academic programs - I know of several friends kids who have done undergrad at Union and gone on to be Veterinarians and MDs and college profs all highly respected in their careers. They all speak highly of their educational experience there.by profudge - Hockey

Heartfelt agreement... Cam played well and with good speed! After a bit of a slow start Team looked great!by profudge - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell 11/18/17 - 6 years ago
Clarkson looked very good - And we despite a lot of effort could not hit net on our opportunities and made a few defensive miscues that cost us. The Clarkson power play was very good - hoping we took a few notes from the experience. We missed Cam, for a first year player his vision of the ice and passing is great! Hope when we see Clarkson again we are prepared.by profudge - Hockey

Cornell women looking good in 5-2 win over Q in home opener. Kristin and Sarah both with 2 goals... Marlene looked really strong in net. Folks this team is very enjoyable to watch - come out and cheer them on!by profudge - Hockey

Hey the Islanders drafted him - they must see some potential. He worked his way through 4 years of prep academics and hockey and got mostly A's. His goal is to play in the NHL. I look forward to watching him develop at Cornell!by profudge - Hockey
Re: Union @ Cornell 02/25/17 - 7 years ago
Hit was late and from where I sat was a vicious high hit and boarding in neutral zone behind the play. The trailing ref was watching the puck and play and didn't seem to have seen anything. Unbelievable! About the loudest booing in Lynah all season.by profudge - Hockey

Re: RPI @ Cornell 2/24/17 - 7 years ago
True Andy, and defender had stick up high on Buckles when he grabbed at it and pushed it aside; + Schafer was a bit upset on that call also. But Buckles then going out and taking a fairly weak neutral zone penalty a short time later was poor decision or impulse control on his part. We took 3-4 really poor decision penalties in this game - I am glad our penalty kill played very well for mosby profudge - Hockey
Re: RPI @ Cornell 2/24/17 - 7 years ago
There have been tickets available for many games - call and ask. Also I have seen folks outside selling extra tickets several times - usually at or below cost... come 40 minutes early and hang out outside ticket office area and ask folks. Good luck!by profudge - Hockey
Re: Women's Team 2016-17 - 7 years ago
I was at the game and did not hear an announcement of the last penalty or the reason the refs, after a review declared "No Goal" but the very small crowd ROARED! Article on Cornell Women's Hockey web page said it was a goaltender interference call. I agree the take-down should have been called; looked like a rugby tackle! In the end a very exciting game - played very hard by bby profudge - Hockey

Last night's game against Princeton at Lynah was exciting and great fun to watch for a fan of ice hockey! Princeton came in on a roll winning their last 8 games and with seemingly the hottest goal keeper in women's hockey. Princeton scored on desperate scramble around the crease early in the game and that stood as the only goal in a goal keeper's duel. Then the Big Red scored a beautifulby profudge - Hockey

The women looked good in their first few games winning both games against Mercyhurst 3-1 and 2-1. I was impressed by the fresh-women hustle and contribution to the scoring. Folks they are fun to watch - do try to get to some of their games.by profudge - Hockey
Re: 10/21 UOIT - 7 years ago
I don't believe Nuttle dressed for too many games last year - Our first exhibition game with 3 returning D-men from last year not dressing gives opportunity for others. I liked the freshman showing in general in first game. Kudos to the team for moving the puck fairly well 5x5; although we had two many give-aways in our half of ice. Penalty kill looked good!by profudge - Hockey
