Al DeFlorio scoop85 Down 1-0 about 8 minutes in. Yale looking much more cohesive so far than they have in recent years. Doesn’t look like tonight will be a cakewalk. By contrast, women leading #6 Yale 5-1 after two. Pleasant surprise after we had the 2 tight wins last week in the Capital Regionby scoop85 - Hockey

andyw2100 andyw2100 And the two service dogs. Don't forget the service dogs. Was anyone else worried for the dogs' welfare, being so close to the band? I googled it, and anything above 85 decibels can damage a dog's hearing. In Section M the band was regularly at 87- 89 decibels pregame, according to an app on my phone. I have to think in Section A they would be significantly louder. Onby scoop85 - Hockey

George64 underskill Based on some of the graffiti on campus this week, the behavior of some professors and the admin in general, I sadly don’t think Cornell students can be dismissed as culprits. Which makes me ashamed as an alum. According to a NYT article, the offending professor requested a leave of absence. I hope it’s a long one. Universities should be a place for informed debate, not mby scoop85 - John Spencer Is Dead

Swampy Trotsky underskillI assume it’s more admission issues as opposed to academic issues once they’re admitted. Perhaps they don't have academic issues because Day Hall maintains standards*. * Unless you can afford tutors to physically carry you into and through the school and on to your reserved chair at their firm. Trotsky Guys who I thought especially distinguished themselves tonight: O'Leary, Bancroft, Walsh, Shane, Castagna, Seger. When Grady says “Castagna” my brain instantly converts that to “Can’t stand ya” from the Seinfeld library cop episode.by scoop85 - Hockey

Word has it that Cornell “won” the Maryland scrimmage 13-10 last evening. With Michael Long taking the semester off for his 5th year eligibility, Freshman Ryan Goldstein stepped into his spot and apparently acquitted himself well. Willem Firth also is reported to have looked good primarily running out of the midfield. And Kirst did some typical Kirst things. Both Knust and Tully got time and goalby scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Game going south, again - 7 months ago
big29red Just another terrible sequence of penalties, long passes for touchdowns when they have a 33 -0 lead. This could end up very embarrassing. This coaching staff needs to go. A few rough moments and head-scratching coaching, but hard to complain about today.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Ken711 Why does Cornell run their smallest RB Ean Pope at 5'7" 170lbs into the line on 3rd and 1? He gets stuffed every time. Our running back usage never ceases to amazeby scoop85 - Other Sports

Convincing 5-1 win. I don't know if Ka had been injured again this season, but good to see him back--he's a difference maker.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Al DeFlorio scoop85 CAS Announcers said Carothers is injured. Then Tillman (assuming he’s healthy) should play a lot, as he’s our best back anyway. Not from what I saw in New Haven. Going by last season. But perhaps Carothers has surpassed him. Anyway, our defense, which started the season looking decent, has fallen apart without Stebbins. Harvard will likely put up 50 on usby scoop85 - Other Sports

Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
ugarte Colgate puts it in - I don't think our linebackers are ever anywhere useful. 28-17. Losing Stebbins was quite noticeable today. The defense had been so solid the 1st two games, but today against a backup QB and a Colgate offense that had done nothing all year, this was an embarrassment.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Soccer 2023 - 8 months ago
1-0 Big Red at the half off a gift goal when the Brown goalie gave it away and we scored on essentially an empty net. Cornell had several other good chances including two off the crossbar, and controlled the play. Brown didn’t have a single dangerous chance.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
Al DeFlorio Frustrating to watch this. Sure is. The team seemingly got full of themselves after last week, and seem to be reverting to the “norm”. Men’s soccer starts now, so might be a good time to check that out.by scoop85 - Other Sports

ugarte 2 minute drill going incredibly well so far with Carothers and Wang runs, Laboy and Woodring catches. Clock management with the boundary and the first downs and Cornell is inside the 20. Fortunate to be leading at the half, but a pretty poor performance. I’m surprised that near TD wasn’t reviewed—sure look close to having his toe in. And on the next play the kid should have cut inside, aby scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
Colgate seems to know pretty much every play we’re running. As we know in-game coaching hasn’t been our strength. Good think we have Wang, as his talent is the only think keeping us afloat.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
But for the Colgate fumble, we’re being outplayed across the board. And as Al says, where’s Crothers? And I’ll add, what’s the deal with Tillman? He was by far our best back last year, and while he missed the last several games of the season to injury, he’s played some this year, but quite sparingly.by scoop85 - Other Sports

upprdeck I do agree that the level is probably going down.. which is good. last i knew though the tompkins waste water was not really being tested for campus water. Maybe that has changed. I know of 10 people sick in the last week.. I never had a single time during this where I actually knew more than 2-3 sick at a time.. When a single class has 15 kids out sick thats a bunch. Re: 2023-2024 Predictions - 8 months ago
upprdeck the big variable there is many people went and got tested in the spring.. at least those results got counted.. people testing at home are not included in any great degree so to see these numbers would point to it being even higher The article states that the wastewater samples shows a leveling off of cases, so it’s not testing dependent.by scoop85 - Hockey
