Trotsky This color guy is an inbred homer, but he has said some pretty interesting things when he wasn't channeling an angry BU undergrad. I’m fascinated how these homers lack total self awareness regarding how ridiculous they can sound.by scoop85 - Hockey

tycho Here is the link to the official position listing on the website of Parker Executive Search, for those interested (or those interested in applying or nominating, I suppose). Note that the position will entail "outdoor activites in variable and/or inclement weather conditions" and will require a "clean and valid driver's license" at the time of employment. “Typically liby scoop85 - Other Sports

ugarte Insane subscription fees for what does not look like an interesting set of offerings behind the paywall and no single-event option. And it's not like the event was making money from ticket sales. The photo attached to the game recap may be the most swagless event photo I've ever seen. The action shot is a free throw. I think they may be playing in a HS gym. Hilarious.by scoop85 - Other Sports

On Parker’s website (that’s the search company), they say their average turn around time on a head coaching search is 10-14 days. I assume that’s the timeframe for identifying recommended candidates.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Al DeFlorio 82-63 over CSU-Fullerton with 2:27 to go 88-70 final. I didn’t pay to see the stream, but a nice bounce back win against what appears to be a not particularly strong Big West team.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Scersk '97 scoop85 Scersk '97 Psenicka needs to get over his sophomore slump right about now, now, now; it would be great if DeSantis avoided one. Psenicka is having a junior slump, which is even more perplexing. For the record, I considered Psenicka's sophomore year as a slump and this year so far as a continuation thereof. Swampy From 2018 to 2023 she was AD at Colgate, which is a better comparison (but academically still considerably inferior) to Cornell. 'Gate did win the Patriot League championship in 2018, but never after that. In fact, during the years she was AD at Colgate, the 2018 football team was the only Colgate team to win a Patriot League championship in any sport. Scersk '97 Trotsky BearLover sah67 scoop85 Tonight Psenicka had several golden opportunities that he just couldn’t bury. Mind boggling. Just to pile on, all you have to do is look at the stats on CHN. The top of our scoring is Seger, Bancroft, Penney, and freshmen. Psenicka and DeSantis are poster boys for the struggles we’re going through as a team. Both guys have been solid contributors in the past, but neither guy can sniff a goal right now. Tonight Psenicka had several golden opportunities that he just couldn’t bury. Mind boggling.by scoop85 - Hockey

The top 6 Ivy teams (excluding Dartmouth and Columbia) all look solid. Yale and Princeton are likely a cut above, so it appears likely to be a 4-team battle for the the other 2 spots in the Ivy tournament. But a lot of basketball left to be played.by scoop85 - Other Sports

BearLover scoop85 chimpfood BearLover BearLover We were due for some bad luck but wow, how do we not score on any of those odd-man rushes, including the 2x0? We didn’t come remotely close to executing on any of them. Dartmouth actually looked solid, but Cornell should have scored at least four goals. Also unclear what happened on the first Dartmouth goal, which came on a run of the mill slapshotby scoop85 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio mountainred Season Opener tonight at Lehigh. Last year v. the formerly Engineers was maybe the best game the guys played all season. The pregame notes list Gray, Manon and Noard as starters -- all expected -- but then list Sophomores Nix and Noard as joining them. Does anyone know if Nazir Williams is hurt? Quite a handicap if Noard has to play two positions. Putting aside Noarby scoop85 - Other Sports

JasonN95 upprdeck I thought the major was more the big kid getting into a small kid, if he was 6-2 I don't think anything happens but he can't be reckless. I didn’t go back to watch again but when it happened I thought it was Psenicka skating hard in a line, the Yale player coming in from the side trying to lunge with his stick and leaned down and forward, and the sweep of Psenicka’s arm as heby scoop85 - Hockey

Re: Cornell v Yale, 11/3/23 - 6 months ago
The good news is we have the lead after 2. But that was clearly our worst period so far this season. Lots of fumbling pucks, undisciplined penalties, and we’re struggling with Yale’s forecheck. Shane and the PK have been solid and the power play continued its hot streak, but otherwise not so goodby scoop85 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio scoop85 Down 1-0 about 8 minutes in. Yale looking much more cohesive so far than they have in recent years. Doesn’t look like tonight will be a cakewalk. andyw2100 andyw2100 And the two service dogs. Don't forget the service dogs. Was anyone else worried for the dogs' welfare, being so close to the band? I googled it, and anything above 85 decibels can damage a dog's hearing. In Section M the band was regularly at 87- 89 decibels pregame, according to an app on my phone. I have to think in Section A they would be significantly louder. Onby scoop85 - Hockey

George64 underskill Based on some of the graffiti on campus this week, the behavior of some professors and the admin in general, I sadly don’t think Cornell students can be dismissed as culprits. Which makes me ashamed as an alum. According to a NYT article, the offending professor requested a leave of absence. I hope it’s a long one.
