CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
I guess I will start this ... Minnesota has the clear early edge, getting off seven shots before we have one from Krantz. It's sad that we have to play before such a partisan crowd in an NCAA Regional final. The place is awfully loud!by scoop85 - Hockey

Michigan really seams to be hitting on all cylindersby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: 2-2 late 1st - 19 years ago
So many early goals in most of the games. Hard to imagine that trend will continue in our game tonight, but after the Colgate game, who knows.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard postgame - 19 years ago
Attended both games with my daughter. Great bonding experience. Some observations from last night: 1. Brutal first period (we looked like we were were the team that played 2 OT the night before). 2. Our overall strength and work ethic along the boards and behind the net is what separates us from all others. It ultimately wears down the opposition and leads to penalties, where the powerby scoop85 - Hockey

Re: QF2: Clarkson 2 @ Cornell 2, OT - 19 years ago
It sounds like we had the early edge in OT, but we haven't been able to get out of our end the last few minutes. Tough to take.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: QF2: Clarkson 2 @ Cornell 2, 3rd int. - 19 years ago
I wasn't able to hear most of the 3rd period, but Gametracker has Clarkson with a 12-6 shots edge in the 3rd. Did they control play as the shots indicate? Cornell totally dominated the 2nd, so I would be surprised if that were the case.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: QF2: Clarkson 2 @ Cornell 2, 2nd per. - 19 years ago
While the Clarkson announcers certainly pull for their team, I think they do a very professional job compared to most of the yahoos I've listened to.by scoop85 - Hockey

Re: Cornell 5 @ Princeton 0 postgame post-mortem - 19 years ago
Last night was my first in-person game since Paolini beat hyphen in Albany. A few observations: 1. This team is imposing and, despite the know-nothing detractors, possesses great skill. The Hynes-Moulson-Bitz line is awfully imposing, and the only surprise to me is that Hynes hasn't put more in the net. Moulson is even better than I thought. 2. McKee, although not severely tested, is pby scoop85 - Hockey

Not to mention, in the profile of Andrew Collins on the main news page there is a reference to him "bleeding Cornell Red" that struck me as odd given the context of this season.by scoop85 - Hockey

UNH stepped it up last year without Gare. It's time for us to do it tonight.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. UNH scores and updates- spoilers inside - 21 years ago
A tough one to swallow. Cornell had the territorial edge, clearly, but UNH played well in their zone, limiting our quality chances. I think BC actually had better scoring chances in Providence, but today Lenny had a couple he would like back. As a (fairly) old timer about to hit the 40 mark, I was fixated on following this team this team this year. Seeing them win in Albany with my daughter wby scoop85 - Hockey
ESPN.Com mention - 21 years ago
The first page of the ESPN.com website has a link to the AP story of the game. Not much of a story (no quotes), but some recognition is better than none.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: T.V. Schedule - 21 years ago
The 9:00 listing on my digital cable shows the CC-Michigan game (of course, the 3:30 listing shows the Cornell game ). I have tried finding a phone number for FSNY online without success. Anyone know how to reach them? GO BIG RED!by scoop85 - Hockey
MSU-Mankato -- good omen - 21 years ago
Here's an interesting quote about the MSU squad from MSU's former coach, Don Brose, which appeared in last Friday's edition of the MSU-Mankato student newspaper: "They are real skilled and fast. The only thing that could hurt them is if they get played real physical. I think if they can keep from playing on a regulation size rink they will have an advantage." Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
I agree with those who have said that while our first game is more of a challenge than we deserve, I believe the potential second round game would be more favorable for us than the projected matchups in the other regions.by scoop85 - Hockey
