ugarte DeltaOne81 For godsakes, this is the Ivy league in basketball. We should be happy if they make the tournament period, not fretting over not getting a good enough of a seed. Get your expectations in check. This is too negative, a frustration built on decades of failure. This is a GOOD team, and we don't have to set our sights quite that low. I don't mean we should be thrilled that they maby DeltaOne81 - Other Sports

Re: Cornell worst game of the decade - 14 years ago
jtwcornell91 Hillel Hoffmann So I vote for the 2008 Ohio State loss. It had all the ingredients to be the worst of any decade. A monster blowout. To an underdog team. At home. In the NCAA playoffs. Shit, it even had a painful signature play -- the coast-to-coast goal by their goalie -- that people still talk about and keeps getting replayed. That's hard to top. Was that also the year that we hoby DeltaOne81 - Other Sports
Re: Poll: What is the most useless stat in hockey? - 14 years ago
ftyuv But if you take that argument too far, all individual stats are meaningless. Put the NHL best goalie on my beer league against an NHL team, and he'll have a terrible save percentage. Put the most mediocre 4-th liner in my beer league, and he'll be scoring goals every 15 seconds. That's the cost of playing a team sport. I really don't think you're being at all fair, Beeeej. I know you're attempting to be nice about it, but still doesn't make you correct. Why? Re: Cornell 3 BU 3 (Final) - 14 years ago
To be fair, the ref(s?) were letting the players jam at the goalie's all game long. I don't like it, but at least they were consistent, it was around the 20th time that they jammed for multiple seconds with no whistle.by DeltaOne81 - Hockey

Jacob '06 DeltaOne81 Is Stout a good place for a (multi-) family meal before the game? Or is it likely to be very crowded & very loud & more of a bar atmosphere? It was very crowded and very loud before the last one. Even in the more private area upstairs. I would probably look for someplace else. Any suggestions?by DeltaOne81 - Hockey

Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
I rarely have that problem with CC companies in customer service. This isn't Dell. Marketing/activations is often international, but I haven't found service to be. YMMV. Even if it it "why was my transaction rejected" is probably something that's mapped out on their script though. Curious what you find out.by DeltaOne81 - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
Even if it's not their fault, they may give you good info as to *why* it was rejected. Perhaps RedCast is messing up the data & they can tell you that the CCV number came through wrong (or wasn't sent at all?) I once had the case where I would try to pay my cell bill with my Ithaca billing zip CC, but it would never go through because the billing address for my cell account was my parenby DeltaOne81 - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
Have you called your CC company and asked? Do they even see the charges trying to come through and being rejected? If so, they can probably explain why. If not, you have more evidence that it's RedCast's fault.by DeltaOne81 - Hockey

That was free. All they needed was see that the Twins were playing a former Mets prospect, and the baserunning blunder was in the bank.by DeltaOne81 - Other Sports

Re: ECAC's moving to Atlantic City in 2011 - 14 years ago
Josh '99jaybert They have the train which is "direct" to Atlantic City (actually goes through Philly I think, but you dont need to switch to NJ Transit like you had to in the past) which is how I will get there! And Amtrak goes direct from NYC to Albany. I still think it's basically a wash in the travel-from-NYC department. (But yes, that's probably how I will get there too.) Itby DeltaOne81 - Hockey
Re: ECAC's moving to Atlantic City in 2011 - 14 years ago
Trust me, even if AC isn't as 'bustling' in March, you'll far prefer it to having to deal with Jersey shore/Parkway traffic in June/July/August. It's an interesting experiment. I doubt that they'd still be there in 2014. But it'll be a fun experiment for 3 years.by DeltaOne81 - Hockey

tretiak And thank you for taking my snark in stride. To be fair, I did say the Thai places and Maxie's were good. I enjoyed eating there, and didn't know it was so highly rated. I just think that other downtown Ithaca restaurants (Boatyard, Joe's, John Thomas, etc) are overrated. Re: UND vs Cornell in Jan. - 14 years ago
What would a Russian goaltender know? Ithaca may not quite be a culinary 'mecca', but it is one of the most widely diverse culinary places you can find outside of major cities. And it has a variety of *excellent* dining options. As merely one of them, you aware that Thai Cuisine won best Thai in New York State, *including* NYC. Re: UND vs Cornell in Jan. - 14 years ago
This is pretty accurate, if old: It's pretty right on hotels, attractions (though there's more too), & tickets (I'll re-emphasize looking on this forum for tickets). Also, you should be able to call the ticket office and see if they have single-game tickets left once the season ticket sales are over. It sells very well, but it's not sold out well in advance all the time like it used to bby DeltaOne81 - Hockey
