Re: BU Postgame - 16 years ago
Al DeFlorioevilnaturedrobotI'd like to see a replay, but I recall it going in off a stick. Regardless, the fact is that the puck deflected off an object (stick, jersey, it really doesn't matter) that was positioned to the right of and behind Scrivens, who had squared to the shooter on his left. Now, the spectacular save would have been to have reached out to his rightand deflected that wideby Swampy - Hockey
Re: Cornell/BU Thanksgiving (11/24) Ticket Info - 16 years ago
KeithKnyc94Cactus12Yeah, that's an unfortunate aspect of having the game at a venue like the Garden. People who make their livings reselling tickets put up prices that would be "appropriate" for the Rangers games rather than college hockey. They don't know/care about the event and will just take the loss when no one buys and let the tickets go to waste. <insert Kyle's position on tby Swampy - Hockey

Roy 82I am the Great Procrastinator but it looks reasonably sure that I will be going to this game. I hope to take my nephews and convert them to the religion that is Cornell Hockey. Although I am thrilled that the game will be packed, my dream that I could just stroll up at the last minute and by good seats in the Cornell section is gone. ugartepfibiger10 shutouts in 18 games, sounds like the coaching staff ought to keep an eye on his goaltenders. Bah. It's the system. I don't think so. Remember, back in '78 you could go to Cornell on a hockey scholarship. There was no need for a system.by Swampy - Hockey

evilnaturedrobotto be fair, every indication is that when Milo commited to Cornell he was told that he could play both sports ( I seem to recall that this being mentioned somtime in the 05-o6 year.) If it is true that Schafer changed his mind half way through the year, and there is no evidence of this aside from Dilligaf's highly suspect word, then it's a poor job on Mike's part. jtwcornell91Okay, so there is an argument that explains how you might not judge from the game results that an undefeated team is automatically the best. Before the season starts you are in a state of ignorance about the strengths of the the various teams. Great win and very exciting watching the updates on Laxpower! I have a question. Is the Carrier Dome's field artificial turf, and has CU played much on artificial turf this year? This may have something to do with the high score and the scoring from 12 yards out.by Swampy - Other Sports

Rita, I used to coach youth lacrosse. We had lost something like five games in a row before we finally won. In that game, we had one kid who could dodge and beat any of their defenders one-on-one. So we put in a play at halftime that everyone else would clear out, and this kid would try to dodge and get a clear shot. If they double-teamed him or slid over to help, our other guys would move toby Swampy - Other Sports

Faceoffs: The ball is between the netting of two opposing midfield players' sticks. The other midfielders line up on lines to the side in the midfield section of the field. The ref blows the whistle. The side middies can and typically do rush into the center. Meanwhile, the center middies struggle for the ball. Often, there's a fair amount of checking until one team wins possession. Big Red Puckhead has Jillson's statistics up. In 73 games, he scored 93 points (41-52). This is much higher than any other recruit, with Kennedy being next highest at 47.
