Bitz has some stones. Threw down the gloves and squared off with Donald *stick to the head* Brashear in the B's OT win over Washington tonight. He looked good for the first minute of the fight while they wwere just eyin geach other with knuckles up and air- sparring. Once the jerseys got ggrabbed Brashear's experoence showed clearly...before he eventualy flattened Bitz with a left. At lby abmarks - Hockey

And to think I was just having a conversation over dinner about wasting time reading drivel on the internet. Schafer, for one is a hypocrite IMO. He was pretty amused by all th evarious cheers etc when he was an assistant coach and speaking off the record. Of course it was then Coahc McCutcheon all pissed off about taking his kids to games and the obscenities they had to hear. Sure thingsby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 at Brown 1 (postgame) - 16 years ago
Al DeFlorioredhair34billhoward Power Play (2x20 going in) woke up with 3 PPGs. The last one was the most impressive individual effort I've ever seen by a Cornellian. Wouldn't go that far (but, then, I've seen a lot of great individual efforts by Cornellians in 47 years of watching Big Red hockey) but it was something to see. My first reaction was that it reminded me of Joe Nieuwendyk. I'd gby abmarks - Hockey

Re: Cornell vs Harvard @ Bright on sale October 4, 2006 @ 10AM EST - 17 years ago
THere were maybe 10-12 people in line at the ticket office this morning, so I went through it twice. No really good seats were available, no different then for phone/web. There was one guy at the window and three answering phones. I had my dad trying the web this morning too and he also couldn't buy in any quantity. After getting a message from him about that, I mentioned it to the guby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Dividing loyalties? - 18 years ago
I grew up attending every UVM game from the time I was 5 until I got to Cornell and continue to attend UVM games whenever I'm visitng the parents during hockey season. But, from the first few games at Lynah, I was rooting for Cornell first but for UVM in any game they had other than one against us. Graduated in '91 and kept my loyalties in that same order. I then went to Michigan for B-sby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Wisconsin postgame thread (post-season thread?) NCAA quarterfinals 2006 - 18 years ago
bigred06That penalty called on Mugford and the Wisonsin player really screwed us over, because it resulted in a 4 on 4 where the faster more skilled team is going to have the advantage. That obviously being Wisconsin. The refs were trying to make a statement not find a goal. In the end it was a great game and Mckee stood on his head. couple random HC-Minny notes: -if the camera angles were any worse you'd think it was the all-access video from Lynah. -HC is getting huge fan support from the Dakota locals...by abmarks - Hockey
Re: Pepsi Arena - barely occupied for ECACs? - 18 years ago
CowbellGuyMaybe it doesn't matter to you, but from this poll, it seems like it does to a lot of people: Poll results showed 50/50 for Albany vs. the response of "ah nuts." How long has that poll been running? Wouldn't a better poll be Lake Placid, Albany, Somewere else? "Ah Nuts" could be taken to mean "Well, I'm not thrilled with Albany but...it still beats Plaby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Lynah's spectator-unfriendly netting - 18 years ago
WHite is better. UVM switched in the past couple years from Black netting (Very obtrusive) to some off-white color now. It's much easier to see through the off-white. Analogously, how many hockey players wear black cages on their helmets? The vast majority of teams wear white, with some using that odd new-fangled silver color. Looking through the helmet cage is the same issue. I'm sure ifby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Pepsi Arena - barely occupied for ECACs? - 18 years ago
TrotskyabmarksPutting the ecacs in Lake placid was like what holding the WCHA's in Aspen would be. Ridiculous. Your two cents were sensible. You should have left out your third cent. Lake Placid was a fantastic site for the ECACs. It fell victim to logistics, not logic. Albany has all the romance of a tuna cannery and all the convenience of a quickie mart. Re: Cornell-Harvard ECAC title post-game thread - 18 years ago
I actually agree a bit with facetimer. Although you have to coach the talent you have to it's abilities, we are clearly doing some thing wrong IMO. 1) Either Harvard was more disciplined, or we were over-amped. A number of penalties we took were just plain stupid or a result of trying to go out and hit no matter what the cost. (See Pegararo's hitting from behind/interference penalty right iby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Pepsi Arena - barely occupied for ECACs? - 18 years ago
I think we more than would have filed Lynah. The issue will always be, regardles of location, which teams are playing. If we had been playing RPI, Clarkson, St. Lawrence or maybe even Union, you've got to believe there would be a much bigger crowd on hand. And don't forget that when the tourney moved, Vermont was part of teh equation and they would have been there in force as well. Atmospheby abmarks - Hockey

Re: Colgate semi-final Game thread - 18 years ago
CSTV could care less. they only broadcast sports like hockey on web-feeds because they have you. They are in with schools for football and basketball, and one IVY school having a few hundred fans drop off hardly qualifies as even a nuisance. I'd love better service, but I have no expectation of it. Good luck getting any attention during hoops tourney time........by abmarks - Hockey
