Re: Sucks President Resigns - 18 years ago
I agree with Mr. Summer's statement. How many women physics majors do you know at Cornell, what about math majors. It isn't a bad thing that they don't exist, it is just how it is. Everyone needs to grow up. If women get bent out of shape over this we should not let them out of our kitchens. They are just embarrasing themselves.by Facetimer - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Hockey at Fenway? - 18 years ago
Jim HylaFor those oldtimers like me, nothing will ever replace the 5 hour drive to Boston, getting there just in time on a Friday to grab something at McDs, and then feeling our heart rate go up as we walked up the incline to the stadium seats. I'll never be able to replace that feeling regardless of ever winning another NCAA title. There was just too much history of going to the garden every yeaby Facetimer - Hockey

Re: Boston - 18 years ago
krose So, congratulations! You helped shave 5 minutes off some peoples' commutes, and subsidized a massive wealth transfer to the owners of buildings in the North End and to the politically well-connected tycoons responsible for the impending commericial complexes that will inevitably take priority over the green space that was originally planned. Cheers, Kyle I disagree with your 5 minuteby Facetimer - Hockey
Re: Boston - 18 years ago
kroseFacetimerThe only people that complain about Boston are those that haven't left Oregon in years, you know who you are. I live in Boston, jackass. Have for 7-1/2 very long years. Let me refute your points one by one: -You can gut subway to bus transfers, depending on the station. *** Who wants to ride the bus? -You can take the new Silver line from South Station (red line) directlyby Facetimer - Hockey
Re: Boston - 18 years ago
krosejtwcornell91The Green Line, subways that stop running at 00:30, no subway-to-bus transfers, having to change lines twice to get from Harvard/MIT to the airport, bars that throw you out instead of giving you drinking-up time, bars that don't take out-of-state IDs from people under 25 ... ...ridiculously inadequate road capacity, high hotel prices even in the 'burbs, inability to buy beer anywby Facetimer - Hockey
Re: illegal ticket sale on ebay - 18 years ago
KeithKI find this hard to believe. If the ticket is part of a season ticket package then the seller knows roughly how much each ticket is worth. As the statute clearly state, it doesn't matter what the seller believes, they call it face value for a reason. Certainly the Harvard ticket has a higher supply/demand factor thus if there is no value indicated, one could easily say the ticket is worby Facetimer - Hockey
Re: Reported to Athletics? - 18 years ago
jtwcornell91 I like living in a world where I can buy tickets at face value. To help promote that, I only sell tickets for either face value or what they actually cost me. I also want to see the laws that make it harder to scalp tickets enforced. But then I'm practically a communist. Is this guy driving up the market? Are prices out of control because of this guy? Relax, John. Are youby Facetimer - Hockey
Re: Reported to Athletics? - 18 years ago
jtwcornell91Has somebody reported the auction to Cornell athletics? Seriously, who cares? Why all the rats? If you don't want to pay so high for the ticket, don't bid. If you do, than so be it. You guys all remind me of my classmates in high school who told the teacher when they forgot to give us homework. Grow up. Jim HylaBeeeej, I have to assume you were not joking, so my answer to your question is, absolutely. I think it's poor manners, and disrespectful of your readers, to not try and use proper language. To me that also includes using caps when appropriate, etc.. Jim, you incorrectly added a second period at the end of the above sentence.by Facetimer - Hockey
Re: cornell st law. pregame - 18 years ago
calgARI '07Huge huge huge game. In my column this week (not posted yet), I predicted a 2-2 tie. Anyways, I don't care what the worthless poll says, St. Lawrence is higher regarded team right now and the favorite going into tomorrow night. Why don't you wait until after the game to post your prediction.by Facetimer - Hockey

Re: Cornell Jersey Sighting - 18 years ago
KeithKNow there's one ECAC alum I'll never be able to root for. The profanity I was lobbing at the TV after they switched over to that game on NBC would have made George Carlin blush.Heh. When they said his name my first reaction was "Cool, ECAC alum!". My immediate second reaction was, "but it's Tim Thomas..." What's wrong with Tim Thomas?by Facetimer - Hockey
Re: Cornell Jersey Sighting - 18 years ago
dss28I saw the same sweatshirt Was it anyone here? I was at the game with a Cornell sweatshirt, but I was up in the pressbox, so I doubt it was me. Great game -- Tim Thomas (the third string goalie) stood on his head and made an incredible save on Modano in the shootout, but as usual the B's came up short.by Facetimer - Hockey
