Re: This Year's "Three Goals" - 19 years ago
I guess it would make more sense to me to spread them out more around the hotbeds of hockey. Of course theres 2 out by michigan and minnesota and 2 in massachusettes which are the 2 pretty central areas. But I guess the issue I see with it is how do you decide which regional a team like cornell goes to. I also guess that could be looked at as an advantage for them since they have more flexibilityby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Kinda silly to have worcester and amherst....only a couple hours apart.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

I think they actually had 6 for a few seconds on that one. I'm assuming they'll get those kinks out by next week.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Scheduling on USCHO - 19 years ago
I think the full article on uscho elaborates on this pretty well. It costs those teams money to not have games at home, and then there are travelling costs on top of that. They can get teams to play in their rink without reciprocation, so why submit to reciprocation with us? Also, Lynah is a pretty hostile environment and a loss to us on the road would damage their RPI. Overall, its pretty undersby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: McGill - 19 years ago
I think the place is going to be a little empty of students also b/c of the John Cleese show tonight and the fact that its only exhibition. Hopefully we can still get the place rocking though.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Red White game - 19 years ago
I was pretty unimpressed, he seemed to be a little slow going side to side on a couple plays, and a little unsure on his feet. Some of this could've been because they've only been on the ice for 1 day. I'm sure he'll get some time on friday and we'll get a better idea.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Red White game - 19 years ago
I'm pretty sure the team ends every practice with penalty shots. I remember they did on that open practice they had 2 years ago when they gave away the frozen four tickets.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

Rule enforcement - 19 years ago
Reading posts on USCHO it seems that the refs in the league are going crazy with the crackdown on obstruction calls this year and calling very tight games like the league said they would. It has led to games with 20-30 penalties and a lot of people complaining. Whats everyone's opinion on this and how it will affect cornell?by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: So, now that the line is over... - 19 years ago
I actually think we'll have 1 or 2 extra seats in A for brown, b/c some of the girls with us are on club soccer and are going away. I'll see what I can do for you. Then maybe you could help me come up with some witty jokes.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: So, now that the line is over... - 19 years ago
I've got a whole group in A6,7,8. I'm gonna replace A-19 (I think) in yelling into the opponents lockeroom between warmups and the game. It should be fun.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
Worked out pretty well. I got 258 and i'm happy. They announced it a little early but I think it was about as good as they could do.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
It would be nice if they would do a release saying its not tonight if it isn't tonight. Also, any bets on which method of announcement comes out first?by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
I believe cornell officially doesn't have classes 4:25 to 7 and after 9 every day. Don't quote me on thatby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
Maybe, maybe not. Everyone says they wouldn't do it on a prelim night, but I think its worse to do it on wednesday which is the night before a prelim night when people need rest and studying. If they were smart they'd just release it at 4am, and only the really die hard people would get there quickly, but too many people would complain. Instead we'll all just sit in front of our computers every nby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Getting ready to sit in front of my computer and check email constantly starting at 10pm.....what fun lives cornell makes us leadby Jacob '06 - Hockey

At this point i'm saying "I hope I get seats" Just being in the rink is good enough for meby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
Yeah, checking the names kind of ruins the point of having 2 seats per line number. If the other person can't stay there in your place, one person gets stuck there the whole time and the other person doesn't really have to do any time in line. I don't see much point in checking the names, or at least as Keith said, you should be able to put 2 names per number.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
According to the press release, theres 2 tickets to every line number and 1 person can hold 2 line numbers. Thats 1 for every four people has to be there.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
They make it kind of easy to wait for a week. Waiting between the hours of 10pm-6am is not that hard. You don't have to miss class or prelims. Its easy to get a friend to hold your spot if you need to study or get some rest, especially since 1 person needs to be there for ever 4 tickets. Its not that big of a deal to wait all week.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
Why exactly do they tell the daily sun. Presumably the line is starting at night time so a release in the paper wouldn't really help. Although they did say they would release it in print in the original press release.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
if they were smart they could find a way to avoid that.....no further commentby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Re: [OT] World Cup of Hockey Schedule - 19 years ago
Except for the goaltender interference call. Brodeur should've gotten penalized on that one, not Konawalchuk getting a double minor. It might've disturbed me more b/c i'm a Rangers fan and hate Brodeur though.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
