Re: Trotsky's Fantasy Post-Season - 4 years ago
scoop85 Meanwhile over on USCHO we “beat” Clarkson 3-1 to win our first ECAC tournament title since 2010. Goals by Berard,Barron, and Green. Big thanks to Trotsky for running his simulation, though the uscho game summary sounded pretty convincing.by DL - Hockey

JasonN95 andyw2100 NoDak now down 3-1 with about 8 minutes remaining in the third. Edit - Now 4-1, with about five minutes remaining. Edit 2: NoDak lost 4-1. Highlights: I like how it was edited to include a lot of scoring chances and saves. Definitely more interesting that way. NoDak gave up SOOO many breakaways.by DL - Hockey

osorojo I have found a great deal of correlation between ice temperature at a specific point in a game* and the success of certain teams. This information will not come cheap, let alone free, since it's based on physical evidence and hard data. * it also factors in the amount of rocker and bevel in the skate blades of key skaters. I've always wondered about this possibility, since it seems ceby DL - Hockey

Trotsky The Canes were ahead when he came in, why does he get the win? The first goalie went out because he was "shaken up" and the backup was pulled due to injury. Not sure how I'd feel if it was like the last 60 seconds or five minutes, but since he finished half the game, it seems reasonable that he'd get the win.by DL - Hockey

Scersk '97 Trotsky The 4th place team has not finished with 30+ points since 1996. Yes, it was my junior year, so there are intangibles that light the whole experience up like a Christmas tree, but that stretch run was the most exciting period of Cornell hockey that I have ever witnessed. '97 was different—a much more "cardiac kids" kind of situation. '03 was "men against boys.&by DL - Hockey

Swampy cu155 upprdeck do they block things like a sling box? I genuinely love it when Trotsky trots the numbers out with an unspoken "you're grounded!" So much opinioneering out there, I'm hella thankful for the hard-numbers grounding. And it comes for free. And the highlights are up. So when Vanderlaan gets tripped into the goalie by one of their own, it's still interference? Google points me to CHN, which explains that it's evidently a matter of discretion.by DL - Hockey

marty I received the cannot be played on your device message once this morning with Chrome. Then after switching browsers and switching back to Chrome it was fine. (?) I think these sites have to choose streaming protocols based on which OS they are streaming to. Perhaps this site gets confused as to what it is streaming to and gets hung up. jtwcornell91 billhoward DL Better an East team than not. Better an ECAC team than not. Better an Ivy team than not (ok, with the exception of Harvard). That was a great game. Any team that can play that cleanly, with such a "short memory", and run the gauntlet that Yale did deserves what they got. Throw "New York State" into the equation. Better Union wins than a non-NYSby DL - Hockey
