Re: CBS To Acquire CSTV - 18 years ago
When CSTV was first introduced, the creators went out of their way to say they weren't doing this to start it up and then sell it to a big media company, like they had done when they started Classic Sports. They lied. Sur-prise, sur-prise, sur-prise!by CUlater 89 - Hockey

Thanks Hillel. That's great to hear; Dougie is a great guy and was a tremendous player and off-ice leader during his Cornell days. Playing on one of the most productive lines I've seen at Cornell during his senior year (the "HAD-a-goal" line of Hughes, Andison and Derraugh), it still amazes me that he wasn't first-team All-America. I got hooked on it just as Greg Lemond rose to prominence, when, despite being the better rider at the time, he helped Hinault win his then-record-tying fifth Tour. It was great to see when Hinault returned the favor and rode to support Lemond. Then the hunting accident and the remarkable recovery, followed by two more Tour wins in a row, with a legendary finish in the final time trial when heby CUlater 89 - Hockey

The criteria for being considered seem silly. Just because your squad didn't reach the Frozen Four and your fellow coaches didn't select you as the COTY in your conference doesn't mean you shouldn't be a finalist.
