chimpfood I like sudden death OT. Walk off goals are just electric. But a ridiculous way to decide a game when a goal is scored every two minutes. They did it right in 1976. Would you want sudden death in basketball?by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

upprdeck its hard to be accurate though.. Where do you get the numbers from? often you have several box scores of sports and they are different. This is hard to swallow, sorry to say. If you are going to write about a game, you should watch it. It isn't hard, then, to get the final score correct. Yes, the writing was OK, and having the multiple articles was a nice feature.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

dbilmes Kudos to the Daily Orange, which actually had three stories about the game filed on deadline. This one has a lot of quotes from Long, Another story notes that two years ago, the last time the teams played, Knust also came off the bench to help Cornell pull out a come-from-behind win in OT. The third story is a notebook on the game, noting, among other things, that Cornell is 69th nationaby Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

Swampy Scersk '97 scoop85 With no more games to focus on here’s a late season update for our listed recruits. We have plenty of talent in the pipeline: I have never seen us line up the talent at center that we seem to have and are bringing in. I have to assume some of those guys are going to be converted to wing, but my god. IIRC, Dan Lodboa was a forward when he came to Cornell, but Nedby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

George64 BearLover upprdeck seeing the loss numbers for Dryden and Cropper is just so insane. Galajda also insane. He would have the all time wins record if not for COVID. Dryden and Cropper only played varsity for three years, too. I saw one freshmen game where Ken played forward. It was abundantly clear why he was a goalie! Think Dryden was a skater in the varsity-freshman game. Ned didn'tby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

BearLover Maine had two Nadeau brothers. Denver, for all intents and purposes, has eight. (However, one of their best forwards, Massimo Rizzo, missed the first round with an injury.) Maybe Denver has twelve. All I'm saying is they didn't show it yesterday. Tomorrow could be different.by Al DeFlorio - Hockey

Re: Recruits 2024 and Beyond - 7 weeks ago
Cornell would be better prepared for tomorrow night's game if we had played a Hockey East schedule this year. Four HEA teams made the NCAAs this year. Had Q won the ECACs, there would have been one ECAC team, and it wouldn't have been Cornell, despite a twenty win season. I don't buy your self-serving logic, BearLover, one bit. Winning the ECACs was much more satisfying when Cornell had tby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

marty abmarks for all this talk of smaller rinks wanting regionals more, if memory serves, there's been decent to excellent ticket historically for regionals in Manchester, Providence and Worcester, all of which are well north of the 5k seat mark. Granted attendance would vary depending upon how many of the local schools are playing there, but those have to be better venue choices than 3k-5k seby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

marty jtwcornell91 Iceberg I find it crazy that the committee or whoever is responsible couldn't find another site in the midwestern US. There has to be a ton of better arenas willing to do this event at a tolerable cost. Now that they're doing the regionals on Thursday-Saturday and Friday-Sunday, couldn't one site bid to host both regionals? The Eastern sites are close enough that dedicated fby Al DeFlorio - Hockey
