Re: Cornell 7 RPI 1 (postgame) - 16 years ago
Dpperk29now, back to my original question... is everyone still looking for Schafer's resignation? it is a common flaw of sports fans to always think things are worse than they are or better than they are.*Yawn* Maybe nobody accepts your premise regarding "everyone," unless everyone consists of a couple people who don't post here too often. KeithK The woofing gods aside, I suspect that the NFL wouldn't authorize sales of such merchandise before the game. So assuming these are official products they shouldn't be on sale yet. Of course, if they're illegal then all bets are off. May the woofing gods strike!I suspect an unlicensed product sold for a week in Burlington doesn't register a blip on the NFL's radar. cth95I saw some ball caps in a convenience store just south of Burlington (VT) with the Pats logo and 19-0. I don't know who the heck was already distributing them, but I don't think the owner or manager of the store was too bright to put them out either.I don't know what's weirder about this statement. You got dicked over, Roy, but cut your losses. If posting what you just did without his name won't get him to do the right thing, revealing his name, email, and cell probably won't. And if he's as much a jerk as he seems so far, he'll only respond in the most vindictive way possible (Beeeej might have been alluding to this). rediceThis is a form of communication. If the reader does not understand the acronym, you haven't communicated your point. Sounds like a waste of time to me. Ironic when one considers that acronyms are intended to save time. Re: Cornell 5, Quinnipiac 3 (postgame) - 16 years ago
KeithKI would assume that a penalty shot never counts as a power play goal. It's a just penalty shot, a special case. It makes no difference to the play itself whether the teams were at even strength when it was called. Not saying I'm right. Just that the Cornell and collegehockeystats boxes are consistent with what I would expect to see.I can't argue with what you'd expect, Keith, but I canby Jacob 03 - Hockey

KeithKI'm no longer a student so this would never affect me. But I absolutely hate the idea of forced community service. If people want to volunteer their time to help others then that's great. Let's encourage it. Advertise at the line. But making it a requirement misses the whole point, IMNSHO. Then it's just slave labor.I guess if the point of the community service is to take a headcount oby Jacob 03 - Hockey

RichHMaybe it was the decision to use a pronoun as well as the uncommon abbrev in the original subject line. When I come to this site, given the not-insignificant traffic from Canada which I suspect also visits, "our" doesn't immediately snap me to the nation-level. Uncommon? Really? Re: NCAA rule changes (for '08-'09 season) - 16 years ago
The group developed the three most feasible options to eliminate ties: 1) Five minutes of 4-on-4 overtime, then decide the game by using a shootout. This option had the most support among committee members. 2) Five minutes of 4-on-4 overtime, then 3-on-3 for five minutes of overtime, then a shootout. 3) Each team would receive a 5-on-4 power play opportunity for two minutes. DILLIGAFAlso, I think you are right, if he does make it to Cornell, it will not be a full 4 years. It will be a one and done or 2 and out for him. The top programs deal with that every year. Re: Lynah video tutorial - 16 years ago
It plays like the final project for some student's video-editing class. A student whose first language was not English. A student who never really understood the couple games he attended. A student who had all things Lynah explained to him by his stoned roommate. A student probably nicknamed Borat by his friends sometime last winter.by Jacob 03 - Hockey

KeithKTo be honest, I think it would be better if parents didn't attend youth games generally. Kids would probably have more fun and feel less pressure if there wasn't an audience making a big deal out of it. If they weren't there the parents would have an easier time realizing that it's just a game. Rob NHoceanst41Finally, abuse, assault, and rape - these are really serious. While there may not be proof in the post this is not the proper place to present it. More important than the player's involvement is that this is somebody else's life that we would be discussing. And likely a pretty traumatic part of their life. Re: NCAA wrestling results - 17 years ago
Liz '05Love it, but can we get some acronym definition? Based on the other thread, I'm assuming: WBF = Win By Fall LBF = Loss By Fall TK? X? X seemed to indicate that the wrestler will not be partaking in that round because he has already been eliminated (in the main draw) or has yet to relegated to the wrestlebacks. DeltaOne81ugartejtwcornell91DeltaOne81Isn't "quick thinking" poor grammar? Not if "thinking" is a gerund (a noun referring to the action described by the corresponding verb).
