Re: Cornell makes NHL.com's "In the Slot" again - 22 years ago
Besides, do you see a link anywhere on the NHL page for "E-mail us"? Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Yeah, "lost in overtime to" is an interesting definition for "outlasted." Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: If you could choose... - 22 years ago
We still do individual NCAA tourney appearance banners (while more hardware-starved teams like Brown go for the "ECAC Final Four" banners). I don't think we've ever done regular season title banners, tho'. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: If you could choose... - 22 years ago
With very little hesitation, given these choices I choose B - especially if we win the Cleary cup this year for finishing first in the regular season. Yes, it'd be great if we could win the ECAC tournament again, it's been five years - but our losing in the first round of the NCAA regionals would give other conferences all the usual "Easy-AC" ammunition. So I'd rather have the respectby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Own Horn - 22 years ago
Actually, CUlater is correct based on one thing and one thing only: I started the piece in the singular, and should have remained consistent even if I'd been wrong. Instead I switched to the plural without using any plural nouns like "the icers" or "those guys." It's the damn editor's fault. ;-{)} Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: 2/11/02 - 22 years ago
Interesting, Chris - where'd you get that? It's not updated on the USCHO.com site or the USA Today site. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Ivy Sports - 22 years ago
Underhill's confidence radiates the minute his skates onto the ice each night If there was ever a bad weekend for an opposing fan to call Underhill a sive I see IvyLeagueSports.com shares some editing standards with the Daily Sun and the Journal. And don't you think that if the writer mentions his shaven head, it would behoove them to find a more recent photo? Yeesh. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Polls - 22 years ago
Is it just me, or are the polls being released later and later as the season goes on, just to frustrate the hell out of us? Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Penn wants in- Wouldn't it be great... - 22 years ago
Hey, I am posting from work, I might as well at least pretend I'm working. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Penn wants in- Wouldn - 22 years ago
No, only varsity teams are considered part of the Title IX gender equity "equation." And unless Penn is already at or near gender equity, adding both teams at once probably won't help, either - Title IX requires schools to be moving toward equity. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Penn wants in- Wouldn't it be great... - 22 years ago
There won't be a men's lacrosse team at Columbia, either - at least not until we reach something resembling Title IX equity. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

It's called "Irony," Josh. :-{)} See you in New England this weekend? Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Man, you people yap an awful lot about hockey. Bad enough I'm taking most Friday afternoons off this winter for hockey-related travel - now it's taking me half of Monday just to catch up on the Forum!! Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Penn wants in- Wouldn't it be great... - 22 years ago
I can state pretty confidently, without jeopardizing my role as an officer of Columbia University, that there won't be a varsity men's hockey team here anytime in the next couple of decades. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

So's the Alma Mater (set to the tune of "Annie Lisle". And "The Evening Song"... Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Music - 22 years ago
Greg, you've been singing along with it for more years than Underhill's been our goalie. Have you been hit on the head recently? :-{)} Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth - 22 years ago
I'll be at the Dartmouth game - and the following night I'll be at my first hockey game at Gutterson (can't believe it took me fifteen years to get there...). Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Stathos. . . - 22 years ago
Heh... yes, she's a Yale PhD but did undergrad at Cornell. And I think we sort of threw each other back. :-{)} However, for reasons best left undiscussed here, she'll never again accompany me to a Cornell athletic event. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

I understand "Stathos" is Greek for "Sheep." Who's reffing tonight's game? Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Julia Stiles is at Barnard and Anna Paquin is at Columbia. And Jamie-Lynn Sigler is around here all the time filming her Columbia scenes for "The Sopranos." Golly, I love NYC... Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

"We feel there's some business that hasn't been finished with Yale," Cornell head coach Mike Schafer said. "That 1-1 tie was very disappointing for us." In other words, "That 1-1 tie really pissed us off. We're going to plaster Yale all over Lynah on Saturday, then take their women and children." Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
