Up to 17th in the USCHO poll. Kinda surprised there's so little upward movement in a weekend with two 4-0 shutouts.by css228 - Hockey

Rita Guess I should have watched Van v. Ott instead of that debacle from the Meadowlands. Greening got the game tying early in the 3rd, and the game is headed to OT tied at 1. What debacle in the Meadowlands? All I saw as a good ugly win!by css228 - Hockey

I'm really impressed at how well the team seems to take to Schafer's instruction. These last 3 games should have shown them that they can still generate offense and more importantly win, by playing good defense first. I aby css228 - Hockey

Over on the USCHO fan forum one fan of the Fighting Sioux is running one of his statistical formulas to create a list of teams that have had the greatest season's of all time. The formula weights records, conference accomplishments, national accomplishments, records of competition, etc. He's been listing the teams at this website, along with write-ups on each team's season. Re: Princeton Post-Game Chest Thumping - 12 years ago
What a game! Seemed like the ice was poor the first too periods (felt a little warm in the building) but we had good puck possession and the 3rd was absolute dominance. We scored more goals than we allowed shots in the 3rd, which is incredible. Solid performance by Iles, even though he didn't have much work to do. All in all a good effort that makes me feel good about tomorrow night.by css228 - Hockey

Re: Paul Milstein Hall - 12 years ago
Scersk '97 Trotsky So basically the whole campus looks like MVR. With those aircon vent "details" and the shitty apologetic greenery, more like a roadside Homewood Suites. To be fair, East Halls are a bunch square red brick high rises that look different from the South Halls being shown there, but detract the campus IMO.by css228 - John Spencer Is Dead

Robb Cornell is challenging enough even if you don't have a complication like OCD. Best of luck to Philippe in making what must be a very tough decision. Let's not forget playing a D-I sport on top of that.by css228 - Hockey
Re: Paul Milstein Hall - 12 years ago
CowbellGuy Kyle Rose Right now IMO it's a mishmash of conflicting styles that just looks cluttered Have you seen Penn State's campus? Every building has the exact same facade. It's all rather Orwellian and boring. I'm happy with the mishmash as long as the buildings are interesting*. Keeping distinct zoning only works until you need to build that next building and there's no space for it.by css228 - John Spencer Is Dead

mikek Watched Scrivens in the PHX-TOR game (first hockey benefit I've gotten living in PHX...) I missed the first period when Scrivens gave up the two goals, so I'm not sure how he was for those. In the 2nd, 3rd, and OT I thought he looked really good. Made several good saves down the stretch to keep the Leafs in it. Stopped 33 of 35 shots. Didn't do so hot in the shootout (0 for 2) as PHX wby css228 - Hockey

Roy 82 So can/should we send messages of encouragement to let him know that there are many fans at Cornell who would love for him to return? It is his decision but it wouldn't hurt to let him know that we do care that he returns. It's a tough call because its obviously not our place to suggest to him what he should do. But given that OCD hits particularly close to home for me given I have familyby css228 - Hockey

RichH Since nobody wants to start any threads, here. First, the obvious: 4-point weekend for Cornell 4-goal weekend for D'Agostino First road sweep of Harvard-Dartmouth since they became travel partners. Third win at Thompson since 1998. I had hoped that D'Ago and Espo would lead the way. I doubt this scoring pace is sustainable, but CU has actually been able to keep filling the net conby css228 - Hockey

I second what Ithacat said above. I would love to see him come back and thrive on East Hill (and not just on the ice) but he needs to do what's best for him, and no matter what he does he should know that the Lynah Faithful support him and wish him the best.by css228 - Hockey

Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 12 years ago
kozaczkies This was my first game of the year and I liked what I saw in the first. Harvard seemed to out play us in the second and it wad fairly balanced in the third. Lots of penalties on us in the 2nd and 3rd... I couldn't tell if this was from sloppy play or the refs just being a bit quick with the whistle. I don't think we even had a power play after the first. Andy had a good game. Juby css228 - Hockey

Re: Scandal at Penn State - 12 years ago
Trotsky Not that I don't trust the judgment of the Lynah Faithful, but I am very glad we're not hosting Penn State this year. You're probably right that it would end up with the university being a bit unhappy, but we wouldn't be perpetuating the traditional hostile environment if we didn't toe the line somewhat. That said, in all likelihood, the line would be crossed before the first puck even drby css228 - John Spencer Is Dead

TimV css228 That's about right. We came out of this weekend with about as many points as I expected (2-3 but 3 was more wishful thinking than anything), Actually, it's better than expected. We got to points from Yale. Those are harder to get than the two from Brown, which will get made up. A win on the road at Yale is huge. Annnnd - it was on National TV.
