Re: Petition To ECAC - 20 years ago
Hey all - I agree w/ Beav - I sit in N and agree with the Bitz call and the Carefoot obstruction as obvious calls in fornt of official - - We didn't play well last night for whatever reason - I didn't agree with all of Hansen's calls but a fan in one seating location is never going to agree with all of the referee's calls! Hansen is one of the best refs we will see and he called a fair gamby profudge - Hockey

Re: LeNeveu Fought Tonight - 20 years ago
More Detail from Lowell newspaper: "... A full-scale brawl erupted with 1:17 to play. The melee began when Springfield forward Billy Tibbetts punched Chris McNamara off a faceoff. By the time it was over, Patrick DesRochers had raced down the ice to exchange punches with his goaltending counterpart, Springfield's David LeNeveu, while the ice was littered with bodies, sticks and helmets.by profudge - Hockey
Re: RPI 0 vs Cornell 0 - 20 years ago
I agree disappointing - We won about 65-70 % of faceoffs and had a couple less icing's over the game than RPI... but nothing in the net to show for the effort. Evan S. played well on D. Hornby and Abbot line showed usual hustle - Ryan/Byron/Matt were dangerous at times but had mutliple shots blocked by RPI D-men. Both Hynes and Moulson were hit from behind head first into boards both wby profudge - Hockey
Re: Union - 1 vs Cornell - 1 Final (ot) - 20 years ago
Jim and Greg - Sitting in N the waved off goal was because we had bodies in the crease; (Hynes) - crowd's reaction because of the bit late on the wave off it looked like the wave off was 'cause net was off - but puck had crossed line just prior to net getting knocked off. A very close and I think correct call. We were slow getting our legs moving in first two periods. Paul V. didby profudge - Hockey

Everblades in S. Vt? - 20 years ago
Hey faithful - any suggestions for a sports bar in S. Vermont? We will be staying in Wilmington about halfway between Bennington and Brattleboro? Ideal would be Wilmington area, but '40' min drive to east or west gets the other towns. All suggestions welcomed. thank youby profudge - Hockey
Re: Brown 3 Cornell 3 Final OT - 20 years ago
Great game - Just a few comments: Since we sit in N I had great view of both in and out shots first one: Ref was not in best position to see I thought it hit the post near top corner and a bit of net (my 13 yr old son - better eyes) thought it was in. Second one: The goal was a great top corner shot by Moulson that was in and out off back of net, off post, so fast most people around usby profudge - Hockey

Re: Ohio State 4 @ Cornell 3 - 20 years ago
In most of his comments, I agree with Greg, The team is improving. Somehow we don't seem to get our feet moving and the team together for the fist 12-15 mins. of 1st period - for most of the home games... I felt we played well most of the game, but it ws small things... - Dave Steckel is for real; He was winning face-offs all night and scored 2 times with hard quick accurate shots plus aby profudge - Hockey
Re: western michigan university @ cornell game 1 - 20 years ago
OK - Saturday thoughts on last night - I agree with most of what has been said although I didn't think Mckee was so bad... OK a shaky goal #1 on a partial screen but the defense left him hung out on 2 where we failed to take the body and the WMU player walked in for nice close open shot. And there was one which hit Ben W.'s stick and deflected fairly drasticly into upper left corner ofby profudge - Hockey
Re: Radio for US U-18 game? - 20 years ago
Drew- second goal was against Marr and not McKee - I believe. Kudo's for the team starting to come together quicker than I had hoped. We showed real good cycling in offensive zone... some excellent passing on occassion! We did take a couple of stupid /careless penalties but our penalty kill was pretty fair! If we can keep improving as a team - this year should be interesting and rby profudge - Hockey
Re: Red/White - 20 years ago
I agree a nifty move by Dan - but what really excited me was the heads up play by the d'man (I think Charlie Cook) to hit him with a perfect pass that let him fly down ice on the breakaway! Both bode well for the future.by profudge - Hockey
Re: Red/White - 20 years ago
Small correction - I had Mike Knoepfli on the first white shoot-out goal and Mitch Carefoot on the second. In general I agree with all of the comments so far although I thought Carefoot and McCutcheon were the best of the freshman forwards - although Bryon Bittz skates smoothly for his size and he did score with a fairly quick release slapper When left uncovered for a second in the high slotby profudge - Hockey

Re: Union 1 @ Cornell 3 FINAL - 21 years ago
Union came out flying and moving their feet in 1st period. We didn't ! saw several Union forwards swing outside and by our d'man in the first... David made at least 2 very good saves that I remember. Union goal late in period was a long throw in behind our net and Bell and David L. and Mark M. miscommunicated and all three wound up behind the goal line trying to play the puck? a union playerby profudge - Hockey

Re: Cornell vs. Clarkson 3-0 FINAL - 21 years ago
Our Team played hard and well YEAH! Saw some good passing especially in 2nd and 3rd period - but our 1st power play unit were slow getting it together and were not moving the puck as well and as quickly as the second unit. Started a tad slowly in the first period only having maybe 2 good shots on net whole period. I am glad Greg H. only got a misconduct in the third - given he skated aby profudge - Hockey
