I second your comments Rich ( I've been in section N for 9 years and love it ) many folks around me physically couldn't stand for a whole period much less the game. Please be supportive and aware of fellow Lynah faithfull of older generations.by profudge - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Sacred Heart Postgame Thread - 19 years ago
Pete, I was also concerned despite all the bright spots by 2, Too Many Men penatlies this weekend - and at least 2 more I thought should have been called but were missed by the Assistant referees. But this is my lone concern in a many bright spots this weekend, defense stepping in to help on offense where appropriate in most cases! And our ability to not take too many penalties despite theby profudge - Hockey
Re: McGill game thoughts? - 19 years ago
Game was typical opening game, with some mistakes and missed passes, but we were much further along than I had expected. Kroontz stepped in offensively impressive for a freshman D'man, Topher was great fun to watch and cool under pressure and a big plus on the face-off. The team played well and I thought all four lines looked good! Looking forward to watching the Big Red improve as a teby profudge - Hockey

Re: Think students have it tough? - 19 years ago
Tom, Can't speak to section H - but the upper part of Section O has a number of season ticket holders (personally I only know about 5-6 but all the people around them are there every game) that have been there for years! Some folks like seeing more of our offensive end and the opposing keeper! so atl east geustimate 30-50 seats gone there as season tickets. I was on the list 3-4by profudge - Hockey

ECAC Player movement - 19 years ago
Folks, new in USCHO news: Colgate's J.R. Bria has transferred to Massachusetts-Lowell. He will be eligible to play in 2005-06. A 5-foot-11, 205-pound defenseman from Monroe, Conn., Bria had one goal and six points last season for the Raiders. He will be junior eligible when he joins Lowell.by profudge - Hockey

Re: John Murphy - 20 years ago
Folks, Unless you have years of playing and reffing under your belt, suggest not screaming too much about the official no matter who they are and how bad the calls... It's a waste of energy - - use the energy to cheer on the team - to positive effect. Remember reffing any competitive level of hockey, the ref has to make a minimum of 170 + decisions in fractions of a second and do tby profudge - Hockey
Re: New Arena for Cornell - 20 years ago
Keith, UofMich arena draws fans from a huge area - I used to go to several games a year growing up and it was an hour's drive one way from NW Detroit burbs.... Also usually played at least 1 or 2 HS and 2-3 Midget or Bamtam games there a year back many years ... I remember the huge ice surface - lots of room to skate!by profudge - Hockey
Re: Post-game thead, Fri 2/27 - 20 years ago
I found John Murphy's officiating hard to ignore.... pretty bad.... but the team played hard and hustled hard.... I was impressed with Gleed's hustle... Downs played solidly as did Charlie Cook once he got his game sense back (2 of his first four passes wound up on SLU sticks). Cooks blast on the goal ticked off a player in front and then trickled past Mckenna. ( Box scores now say it waby profudge - Hockey
Re: Mulling over the TBRW Awards - 20 years ago
I agree with almost all posts so far with one exception: for the John Carter Award, Most Respected Opponent - I like #24 Seney, Scott, (C, So 6-3 220) from Union... He won the big faceoffs for them even against Rayn a fair amount. He was tough, he skated well, he checked hard and he scored. Given a choice I'd like to see him centering for us! Although Mayotte would be a close secoby profudge - Hockey

Too much time to kill - while sons do a 3 hour karate sword clinic. So some updates | info found while cruising on web: Topher Scott - has teammates committed to several colleges: - Matt McIlvane, a center who is tied for second on team in points this year with Topher is going to OSU - Goaltender Adam D'Alba is going to Brown - Jeff Dunne, defense is going to Micby profudge - Hockey
Re: Game Thread: Princeton 1 at Cornell 6 FINAL - 20 years ago
Game was awesome! Team played hard and hustled. A bit better puck movement by PP units. Evan S. looked good making mostly good decisions and threw one really nice old fashioned hip check later in game. I was worried by Ryan O. and Paul V. taking some unneeded penalties... As well as Greg H. getting called for elbowing right at beginning of third period. Ref seemed to call a fair aby profudge - Hockey
