Re: Cornell at Harvard postgame - 17 years ago
oceanst41 That being said, it was not nearly as stupid as our old friend Chad Morin head butting Krueger. I got to speak to Chad briefly after the game as my girlfriend is friendly with his family over in Auburn, and she and his sister were waiting to see him. He said that Krueger was essentially playing dirty, holding him and pretty much refusing to get out of his face...so he did the only thby sah67 - Hockey
Fan fight - 17 years ago
Does anyone know the Cornell fan who went over to the 'Sucks student section and let loose with some "HAAAAAHHHVAHHHD...SUCKS" cheers...and then got physically shoved off his feet by some of Harvard's finest and even-tempered young minds, before some other Harvard fans broke it up? I'm curious to hear what actually happened, because it was difficult to see much of the commotion fromby sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Harvard postgame - 17 years ago
Just got back to the hotel from Bright, and some notes: Scrivens played well...the first H goal was a beautiful wrister that was ripped from the point, and was essentially a heat-seeking missile. The second goal happened during a scramble in front of the net, and barely actually went in...it zinged in barely under the crossbar and skipped right back out, but apparently crossed the goal-line foby sah67 - Hockey
Albany ECAC ticket questions - 17 years ago
Just a few questions for those Albany veterans out there: 1. When is the best time to buy tickets...i.e. what are the prospects of a sell-out/getting crappy seats? Even if one doesn't want to wait and make sure we make it to Albany. 2. What is the best way to make sure you're sitting with other Faithful? Or is there no real way to organize that? 3. Where is the best place to buy ticketsby sah67 - Hockey
Re: autographed gear for sale - 17 years ago
An addendum for those going to bid: The jerseys are replicas, not game-worns...and in case you were curious, the signatures are of the '06-'07 group, even on McKee's stick.by sah67 - Hockey

Re: Princeton at Cornell post-game thread - 17 years ago
mtmack25 Also, anybody see the slap shot from the point he took against Q? I was stunned, until I saw it "miss" wide on the backside and Romano streak in on it. A lot of movement and offensive imagination from the team in the last several games. I was also stunned by Topher's slapper from the point, and started cheering loudly, even thought it didn't come close to going in.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Hey, Pep Band... - 17 years ago
RichHBTW, in other news of evolving cheers, some dude in Section G has started shouting "YOU GOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!" solo with such vigor that I believe he nearly passes out at the end of the "a-hole, you goon" tags on penalties. Some other guy nearby answers with "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!" Saturday night more and more people have started joining in this quite raby sah67 - Hockey

Al DeFlorioBackman ties it on a penalty shot; 2-2. We don't have players with Backman's luxuriant, flowing mullet, with which to distract the goalie.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Princeton at Cornell post-game thread - 17 years ago
billhowardThe name Mugford sounds more pugilistic than, say, Topher Scott. While watching replays of the goals this morning on all-acess, I caught Jason mentioning while Mugford (from the bench) was jawing with Westgarth, something like "And well, Westgarth is having words with someone on the Cornell bench...and it's, not surprisingly, Tyler Mugford". I love the kid's aggression..by sah67 - Hockey

GiffyAnyone know what happened to Scali? He didn't play at all in the third period. He got his clock cleaned at 17:03 of the 2nd period, drawing an elbowing penalty on Moore from PU...perhaps he was still seeing stars after this and Schafer sent him to the showers. I was also wondering why he was all cleaned up and in his suit for the seniors ceremony...I hadn't remembered the big elbow.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Princeton at Cornell post-game thread - 17 years ago
billhoward Yale winning helps our chances of being third/fourth in the ECAC; Dartmouth winning helps our chances of winning the Ivy title (like you think a lot about that one).) If I'm seeing the standings correctly, a win at Dartmouth clinches a bye for us, regardless of Dartmouth winning or losing against Yale tomorrow.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Quinnipiac postgame - 17 years ago
Doug '08 I can’t wait until tomorrow nights game; this is going to be our first 4 point weekend in a long time. This is a woof-free zone.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Quinnipiac postgame - 17 years ago
scoop85I only caught part of the third period, but Lynah sounded as loud as I've heard it in a long time. I definitely think Q gooning it up got the Faithful all riled up...Davenport's chance at (and completion of) the shutout also had everyone pumped up.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Quinnipiac postgame - 17 years ago
Salmela looks GREAT on the pp...excellent decision to put him on that 1st unit. You can tell he's really thinking and setting up good plays just by watching him...unlike Bitz. Topher was also very good tonight...the pass to Barlow on the PPG was sweet, but not quite as good as the one to Krantz at RPI.by sah67 - Hockey

Re: Video clips of the @Union game - 17 years ago
scoop85 Also, the 3rd Union goal was weak, to say the least. And the first Union goal made McLeod look transparent...we really need Seminoff back. Topher's pass to Krantz was a thing of beauty though...great to finally see video of that...should go on some sort of season-end highlight reel if someone on here feels like editing some clips together. Not that I'd really wany to re-liveby sah67 - Hockey

Video clips of the @Union game - 17 years ago
A Union fan was kind enough to put together TV-captured clips of all the goals (both teams + Romano's disallowed one) from last weekend's Union game, including replays on most (especially useful on the Carefoot blindsiding, and Romano's stolen goal). A bit of precaution: the clips have the TV commentary playing faintly, but drowned out by horrible music that the Union fan edited in.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Holiday tournament competition in Florida next winter - 17 years ago
ursusminorThe first post in this thread is a bit misleading. Actually, the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa has already been awarded the 2012 Frozen Four. Whoops, apologies. I didn't realize sites that far in advance had already been set in stone...should have read more carefully.by sah67 - Hockey

Gallagher: Rookie of the week! - 17 years ago
After being snubbed by the ECAC weekly honors for the entire season, we finally bring one home with Blake Gallagher named as ECAC Rookie of the Week for the week of 2/12. Gallagher had a 4-point weekend, even if the team couldn't squeak one out, with a goal at Union, and 3 assists at RPI on his birthday (interestingly...all on freshmen goals...not that I would want to pass the puck to Bitz or Mby sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell injuries - 17 years ago
Today's Daily Sun reported Mitch suffered a chest injury, and not a concussion...although there was no official quote from any of the coaches to confirm this. Hopefully it's just a bruise and nothing cracked or fractured rib-wise...we need him badly for Q.by sah67 - Hockey
