For me the ideal F4 would be us, Denver, BU, and Wisco. Both teams’ fans suck and are reviled by their respective conferences. And what school doesn’t bring their own band to the FF?! A pox on both their houses. I missed the band trivia. Wasn't that a D. Trotsky I knew about the 5th year. But I thought it had to do time lost to COVID. Not counting time played during COVID is seriously weird to me. I may just have mentally blocked it out as absurd, like MLB extra innings a d professional allowed in the Olympics. marty BearLover Trotsky Fillion leaves Q, to go with Quillan and soon to be Graf. Rand will just go shopping in the Portal, but still nice to see the volatility. We're stating to look like preseason favorites. I’m still confused, do you want the ECAC to be strong or not? Good Q players transferring out is bad for the strength of the league. Re: NCAA Tournament 2024 - 24 days ago
Trotsky arugula It is? I’ve been following college hockey for forty years (oy vey!). Never experienced it from the BC group. 40 years here, too. It is. It's primarily the self-absorption of Bostonians. BC students are likely to be locals. BU gets a large contingent of kids who didn't get into Ivies, so the solution of Boston Idiocy has been diluted. But BC also carries itself with aby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

chimpfood adamw chimpfood adamw chimpfood On the CHN podcast today Adam said that he supports teams being able to host regionals in their own rinks but should only play there if they are a one or two seed. To me, this makes no sense to not just do home games for the first two rounds. Firstly, it shows that he has no issue with schools hosting NCAA games in their home rink and this system doesn’tby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Since I don't want to have to dig through it in the "Opponents and Others" thread, I'm starting a thread for non-Cornell discussion of this year's NCAAs. I thought it was interesting that Michigan Tech is the #16 seed and looked back to see when else it's happened that #16 has not been from Atlantic Hockey, College Hockey America, or the MAAC. 2017 Michigan Tech (WCHA) 2021* Notby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

abmarks Trotsky jtwcornell91Now that they're doing the regionals on Thursday-Saturday and Friday-Sunday, couldn't one site bid to host both regionals? This is actually brilliant. Iceberg I find it crazy that the committee or whoever is responsible couldn't find another site in the midwestern US. There has to be a ton of better arenas willing to do this event at a tolerable cost. Now that they're doing the regionals on Thursday-Saturday and Friday-Sunday, couldn't one site bid to host both regionals? The Eastern sites are close enough that dedicated fans could commute bby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 I missed the first two periods of the famous "Providence Game" because I had a Chem 208 prelim. A bunch of us asked the prof to move it, but he refused. The TA's were also pissed they had to be there. FTR, I aced the exam. sah67 ER I’ve never heard it called Czechia. It sounds too much like Chechnya Arthur says it (correctly) at every home game when Ondrej is in the starting lineup. You'd think the TV crew could have realized the ch in Czechia is pronounced the same way as the ch in Czech.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Scersk '97 Jeff Hopkins '82 Scersk '97 Loved the moment deep in the third where our guys pinned it against the wall in the Dartmouth end for a good 45 seconds. Old time hockey. RichH imafrshmn Even though I love ECAC Hockey and would not want to change the conference (except maybe sending Q to HE), it's kind of bothersome how small-time this league looks in the postseason compared to HE and B1G. chimpfood Iceberg I'm baffled why Cashman pulled Black with about 4:30 to go in regulation. I understand it's do-or-die but that was excessively early with a one-goal deficitI thought it was a really smart move to attack the gassed fourth line when we didn’t have a timeout. I would argue it was successful too as they kept our guys out there for an eternity, just didn’t score. Yeah. even thoughby jtwcornell91 - Hockey
