Re: Rookie Tournament at El Segundo - 20 years ago
Underhill did play in the Kings win over Phoenix, and got the win. It's unclear whether Underhill will start the championship game, or the goalie who's under contract w/ the kings will.by pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Rookie Tournament at El Segundo - 20 years ago
Sunday evening, the Kings play the Coyotes..if both teams start the goaltenders who have played the best for them during the earlier part of the tourney, it could be a goaltender's duel between Underhill and LeNeveu. That could be fun, I wonder if tickets are still availableby pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Rookie Tournament at El Segundo - 20 years ago
Murray dressed, he played..and the people who saw him from the sharks hockeysfuture board said that he played well, had great positioning, but when he was caught out of position he wasn't fast enough to recover. They also were impressed by how well he used his size.by pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Rookie Tournament at El Segundo - 20 years ago
Looks like Matt Underhill played well against Anaheim, as well. I think he played the entire game, and gave up one goal, the final was 3-1 in favor of the Kings. there's a picture of matt, as well as one of lenny in the article, plus a pile of great underhill pics in the photos section (linked at the top of the article):by pfibiger - Hockey
Re: 2 more 2004 prospects - 20 years ago
from a nanaimo clippers press release from last may. an interesting choice of players to describe him Ray Sawada, a 6'2", 185 lb. forward has verbally committed to join the Nanaimo Clippers for next season. Sawada helped guide the Richmond Sockeyes to a Provincial Junior B Title and finish 3rd at the Western Canadian Championships. Sawada describes himself as a player that looks to useby pfibiger - Hockey

Re: Cornell players at NHL prospect camps - 20 years ago
looks like there are a couple of prospect tournaments coming up. in the one out west, Murray is on the roster for San Jose, and LeNeveu is on the roster for Phoenix. I was looking at the roster for Atlanta, seeing if Bâby had been added, and saw this: Looks like Sam Paolini is trying for some team in the thrashers organization? If anyone on the west coast is interested in going to theby pfibiger - Hockey
Cornell players at NHL prospect camps - 20 years ago
browsing through hockeysfuture.com, this is what i've been able to find. Clearly the opinions are formed after watching players for maybe an hour, but I thought it was still interesting. San Jose's Mini-Camp Report: Murray was hitting everything. He's a good all around player, it seems. Actually, his skating could use some work. It was evident when he was doing the backward skating drill. -- Aby pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Murray Signs In San Jose - 20 years ago
The other problem is that SJ has 2 other incoming defensemen who could be right around, if not ahead of, Doug on the depth chart: Christian Ehrhoff, a european player, and Tom Preissing. Here's hoping he can put on a show in training camp, or in the AHL, and get a shot soon.by pfibiger - Hockey

Re: Jerry York comments on Cornell-UNH for ESPN - 21 years ago
BOB GAUDET knows a thing or two or three about the Cornell University hockey team. Back in December, the Dartmouth College coach called the Big Red a dark horse choice to win the national championship. Cornell is not sneaking up on anyone in this year’s NCAA tournament. Ken Dryden’s old team is the pick of many to win its first national championship since 1970. The Big Red is 30-4-1, is super stby pfibiger - Hockey

Re: Watching in L.A. - 21 years ago
Liz, I just got the email from Howie, we'll be watching the game on Thursday in Santa Monica. Here's the info he sent: NCAA Semifinal: Cornell v. U. of New Hampshire: Thursday, April 10th at 9AM Pacific, at JP's Pub, 1101 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica. (Don't confuse this with the same address in downtown LA!) JP's is on the Northeast corner of Wilshire and 11th Street, opposite El Cholo Resby pfibiger - Hockey

Re: Daily Sun 12/5 - 21 years ago
From that Daily Sun article: "That will be one of my main priorities," LeNeveu said of following the Red's progress. "I'll be either giving the guys a call, or watching over the Internet, or talking to my parents -- somebody will keep me informed." See, even players want to be able to use the Hockeycam.by pfibiger - Hockey

Re: Cornell Feed Screw-up - 21 years ago
I waited on the phone for about half of the first period, trying to talk to someone in tech support. I guess I'm lucky that it just came back, and I was able to hang up. I'm pretty pissed that I'm paying for this service, and they don't even have a toll-free tech support number.by pfibiger - Hockey
