Re: Next year's line-up - 19 years ago
This is me just tossing some darts at a board. Schafer had talked about the possibility of Bitz playing center next year, which seems like it'd change things around. anyone have an account, let us know if there's anything in there we don't know? also, i saw this article. kinda worthless, but always good to know another recruit was deciding between Cornell and Harvard and made the right choice ------------------------------------------------ Harvard, Cornell fighting for the services of Krantz Alberni Valley Times Monday, February 2, 2004 Page:by pfibiger - Hockey

Let's talk about possible members of the class of '09, in addition to Tyler Mugford who delayed his admission for a year. My money's on Joe Bitz. Nanaimo new recruit and Byron's brother. Since we seem to recruit about 2/3 of the college eligible Clippers, it seems likely he'll end up at CU. From Nanaimo's website. ---- Joseph Bitz. 6’1†190 lbs. Re: Mazzoleni out of Harvard? - 19 years ago
in the story on uscho, as well as the messageboards, people are saying that this might be a way for Mazz to leave and save face. Apparently a group of players has been lobbying the administration to have him removed, player parents are unhappy, and he's looking to go back to Green Bay where he has family. So it doesn't sound so far-fetched.by pfibiger - Hockey

21 returning players, that doesn't make sense with what people have said on this forum.. Just recently someone said that Jan Pajerski is leaving / has left the team. Does that mean that the rumor that Mike Stachurski had left the team wasn't true? With the two of them gone, wouldn't the number returning be 20? Philby pfibiger - Hockey

also, from here: To the best of anyone's knowledge, Bobby Orr has the plus/minus record with a plus-124 during the 1970-71 season. so those seem likely as the single-season records.by pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Hockey trivia - 20 years ago
google gave me this tidbit, from some kid's hockey bio: My dad, Bill Mikkelson, was a defenseman for four seasons in the National Hockey League between 1971 and 1977 with the LA Kings, New York Islanders, and the Washington Captials. He played on the Caps’ expansion team in 1974-75 that went (8-67-5) and he personally still owns the worst plus-minus record in NHL history with a –81 that seby pfibiger - Hockey

from an article in the 'buffalo grove countryside' a local paper, some interesting quotes: ---------- Nichol confirmed that some schools cooled their interest after Scott tore his ACL in the first game of the 2002-03 season. Re: Goalie Recruit - 20 years ago
apparently Goalies' World Magazine has some sort of crazy ranking system, based on "how dominant a goalie has been in a league." So a goalie w/ a high SV% who doesn't play many games wouldn't have a terribly high ranking. Davenport made the top 5 in almost every month that they have online (top 5 for the ushl, that is).by pfibiger - Hockey

Topher Scott is racking up the awards. from the end of March: "The Purple Heart Award is given to the player who best demonstrates perseverance and consistency. yep, just a couple minutes left in the period. now we just _hope_ that whitehead doesn't pull howard before he can give up his 5th goalby pfibiger - Hockey
Re: Harvard-Maine SPOILER thread - 20 years ago
score is 3-1, there's maybe 5 minutes left in the 2nd. Maine just took a penalty while they were on the PK, so Harvard's gonna have a 5-3.by pfibiger - Hockey
