Re: Lax games on TV - 16 years ago
I love that Glynn has turned into a face-off machine; I just hope he doesn't get worn out as the season goes along.by redhair34 - Other Sports

TrotskyMugford... All three of them played out of their minds. He catches a lot of heat from folks here (not from me--he's probably my favorite player) some deserved, some not... but he's been an absolute force in the playoffs ever since he came to Cornell.by redhair34 - Hockey

TrotskyPrinceton loses Moore (which won't hurt much since their best players are all returning) You'd think a unanimous 1st team selection would be one of their best players?by redhair34 - Hockey

Awesome job as always--we really appreciate your insights. Hillel HoffmannDoctor was the surprise story of the offseason scrimmages. He showed signs of quickness, creativity and guile that had been largely invisible during his first two years. For those who don't know, Kyle Doctor hails from Skaneateles, NY and is the son of Ron Doctor, the head coach for the Skaneateles High School team.by redhair34 - Other Sports

evilnaturedrobotredhair34evilnaturedrobot Pulling an entire season's worth of tickets for swearing at a college sporting event? I know this is the stated penalty, but do people have knowledge of them actually adhering to it? Or is it just a bunch of hot air? When the swearing crackdown first took effect (05-06?) there were more than a few threads started by angry ticketholders that had theiby redhair34 - Hockey

Re: Hahvahd 3 @ Cornell 1 Postgame - 16 years ago
Scersk '97Our kill is expected to block a lot of shots, and I'm certainly glad those guys aren't often out there doing that. I don't disagree, I only mentioned it to point out that they aren't exerting extra energy on the kill and should have plenty in the tank to handle increased ice time.by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd 3 @ Cornell 1 Postgame - 16 years ago
Trotsky For a team with more high end offensive talent (Riley, Greening, Michael Kennedy) than any since the F4 team That's it though...there's a significant drop off after that. For example, look at our checking line Mugford-Fontas-Scali--great defensive/energy line--but no offensive talent. Think of checking lines from years past...Mugford-Kennedy-Carefoot or Mugford-Abbott-Sawada both of tby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Playoff Tickets - 16 years ago
CowbellGuyBut even then, there were plenty of tickets available from the ticket office as long as you didn't wait until the last minute. Oh yeah exactly...that season in particular I was able to buy a 4 seats together for some friends midweek.by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Playoff Tickets - 16 years ago
CowbellGuyThey never sell out. Shouldn't be a problem. Ticket office should have plenty. They sold out two years ago about a two days before the first QF game...but the team then was, uh...good. That was also before the renovation.by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: The Athletic Department and Cornell Hockey - 16 years ago
ebilmes More importantly, I think it’s unethical to charge students so much. At other, larger schools with successful sports teams, tickets for football or basketball games are cheaper (and sometimes free). The only thing required is to get to the game early, or go somewhere the day before, to pick up a ticket. You make some interesting points and bring up some things that I've often considerby redhair34 - Hockey

Jim Hylalynah80Check the comments that were made to Jason during the second intermission of the RPI game on Feb 16. Also, note the line changes that were made after the Union loss on Feb 15. Instead of this, why don't you post the comments. Because he's full of shit.by redhair34 - Hockey

Re: Fish - 16 years ago
Jacob '06 Honestly, they don't try very hard to catch you with the fish. I think mostly they are doing it as a formality b/c they would get pressured by various people if they just let it go. If you get there early they don't really check you, and if you go through a little bit of effort to put the fish in an inconspicuous place you will get it in. If you got in to Cornell you should be smart enoby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Sharks Trade - 16 years ago
Josh '99redhair34This was a make or break it year for Doug and he's clearly made it. I don't think he's been a healthy scratch at all since the beginning of the season. He's consistently getting #4/5 Dman ice time and has dramatically improved his skating and decision-making. In last night's game he was paired pretty much exclusively with Brian Campbell. That's a good pairing. If that remainsby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Sharks Trade - 16 years ago
Josh '99I asked a Sharks fan I know and he speculated that if everyone is healthy, Murray, Carle and Ehrhoff would rotate being healthy scratches, with McLaren getting the odd day off to help him stay healthy for the playoffs. Could be wrong though - they did miss his physical presence when Murray was out. I'd be shocked if Ehrhoff sits in order to get McLaren in the lineup. FWIW (admitteby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Sharks Trade - 16 years ago
Josh '99 Kyle McLaren is day-to-day with a knee injury at the moment but once he's ready to go I'm going to guess that Douglas will be the odd man out. I doubt it.by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - February 2008 - 16 years ago
Cactus12LeNeveu's NHL future is not looking great if he stays with the Rangers for any length of time. Maybe so, but his NHL future looks better with the Rangers, or really another team that may have landed him, than it did with the Coyotes. With Montoya headed to the San Antonio Rampage and unavailable for comment, AHL rookie Miika Wiikman (15-5-1-3, 2.32 goals-against average, .917 saveby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: On Murphy - 16 years ago
sah67polarIf I may, Murphy in particular has seemed especially inconsistent this year. Anyone at the Union game can attest to Lynah's reaction (one of the Union players poked Scrivens in the facemask with his stick in clear view of Murphy with no call, to name one). Even within the bounds of individual discretion, the way this particular referee calls games is almost negligent. Which one...Danby redhair34 - Hockey
