Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Princeton and Quinnipiac Roll Call - 15 years ago
Josh '99redhair34NJ Transit lets out right near the rink...correct?Yes. You take the Northeast Corridor line to Princeton Junction (assuming you're leaving from Penn Station, you probably want the 2:01 train) and then transfer to a shuttle train to Princeton. The rink is only about 100 yards from where you get off, and it'll be on the right side of the train. There's a line of trees in betweenby redhair34 - Hockey

ebilmesA columnist in today's Sun says the right things: And, this way, you ensure that Section B is filled with the most dedicated and knowledgeable fans game in and game out. Is this desirable?by redhair34 - Hockey

pfibigerMatt Moulson had a goal and an assist playing on the Kings' top line with Ithaca's Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar in a preseason game against the Avalanche. Anyone follow the Kings closely enough to know if Matt has a shot of making the team out of camp?by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Sabres Sign Nathan Gerbe - 16 years ago
ftyuvHuh. Don't get me wrong, he's good... but the times I've watched him (admittedly, I saw him mostly during his sophomore year) he never struck me as obvious NHL material. For one thing, he's pretty small. Gerbe's 5'6", the smallest current Sabre is 5'9". OTOH, that guy is the Sabres' leader in goals and points, so maybe Gerbe will succeed as well. Anyway, best of luck to him.by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - May 2008 - 16 years ago
Roy 82 Douglas seemed to be struggling throughout this series. His ice time was down and the Sharks had trouble clearing the zone when he was on. In the OTs, the TV announcers commented on how tired he looked (even compared to the other players) and how he was struggling to make the plays. He didn't make any glaring errors, and even had a nice shot in the first OT, but other D-men looked strongerby redhair34 - Hockey

MOBalumNew guy here - is it laughable to think I can make a Friday decision on whether to go or not and still buy tickets at the door? Are we talking an MSG-like showing of CU fans, or more like Hobey Baker Rink? Thanks in advance... there will be PLENTY of tickets availableby redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Game 3's Sunday 3/16 - 16 years ago
TrotskyThe Union announcer said the Messa crowd was the largest in the ECAC Friday. I wonder what portion were the Faithful? 20? 30? Split the difference--probably about 25%. It was great that the faithful were able to cooperate enough to allow those wishing to stand to occupy the back of the sections and have everyone else sit below. I hope we can accomplish the same at Lynah Middle East,by redhair34 - Hockey
Re: Game 3's Sunday 3/16 - 16 years ago
Clarkson should win this the longer it goes as they have more depth, but I'd hate to have to face those seniors fighting for their lives--Burton, Winchester and Dekanich.by redhair34 - Hockey

Re: Legacy situation - 16 years ago
chominky Although I wish he was admitted, my reason for posting is not to complain or argue the merits of his candidacy, but rather to explain how strange it is not to be crazy about Cornell. I want to know how others deal with it, and if the feeling goes away. I reckon it does, and I hope it goes sooner than later. Besides family, Cornell was probably the greatest thing that ever happened toby redhair34 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: How far Cornell hasn't fallen this year - 16 years ago
ugarteithacatCop at LynahLets not forget just how young this team is. With only 3 contibuting seniors, the future looks bright. If you look around the world of college hockey you will see that it is the veteran teams that have the majority of the success. If we can somehow keep R. Nash and C. Greening in the fold for another year or two then you will see Cornell back at the top of the league.by redhair34 - Hockey

Al DeFlorioJim HylaSo, who will be our goalie? ??? Eight goals and eight saves, five for Myers and three for Martinez. Inconclusive. I didn't see today's game, but I'd like to see Martinez get a start and see how he fairs over the course of a game when he's not asked to come in and stop the bleeding. Edit: all things being equal I'd like to see us go with Martinez as he has a lot of time toby redhair34 - Other Sports
