Re: Cornell @ RPI postgame - 18 years ago
RE noisemakers- the clai m was that they were not distributing noisemakers because they were only giving out ONE - even though the next guy in line gave you another. It was pretty annoying but otherwise harmless, I thought. Our band played great and a buddy I took to the game from Univ of Michigan thought they made RPI's band sound lame. Re: onion/rip road trip roll call - 18 years ago
1. New York State Museum - just south of State Plaza in Albany 2. Children's Museum of Science and Technology - Rensselaer Tech Park, about 5 miles South of RPI in North Greenbush. A lot of fun even tho aimed at kids. 3. Crossgates Mall - Just West of Albany - lots of food, women and a multiplex theater.by TimV - Hockey
Re: onion/rip road trip roll call - 18 years ago
They do, but this game frequently sells out and you take your chances looking for apares out front. They'll take a credit card and hold at the will-call. Ask for grandstand sections 5,6,or 7. Oh yeah - they charge an extra 2 bucks for us. $10 each.by TimV - Hockey
Re: Video Suggestions - 18 years ago
Agree with all that's been said and I add my thanks - I look forward to the broadcasts since otherwise I wouldn't see Red until they came to the Capital District. One thing though - Don't get rid of the Corner cameras outrightly - that shot is fun when there's puckmucking in the endboards or post-shot roughing in the crease. Or roughing anywhere else, of course....by TimV - Hockey
Not that there's anything WRONG with that... - 18 years ago
Did anybody notice how thew between periods interview guy ("Nesn's hockey maven Bill Mecca" kept massaging the shoulders and rubbing the backs of his guests?? Keep an eye on him next Tuesday night during the Harvard v Q broadcast.by TimV - Hockey

CSTV.com Screws me again.... - 18 years ago
They showed a video Icon on the Sucks equivalent of AA.. So I bit for a 1 mo sub for $6.95. Fool. On connecting video icon disappears and I only get the audio that CSTV.com screwed me with the first time with CU AA.by TimV - Hockey
Isn't that Fridgen of RPI?? - 18 years ago

It's even better than that... - 18 years ago
In the Harkness years (um.. the real early ones ) Lynah would be full within minutes of the doors opening. Even if there were no chants, the buzz of the crowd was fabulous and sometimes you could see the amazement on the visiting teams when they arrived and walked past Section A TO DRESS BEFORE WARMUPS! Then they of course were abused upon taking the ice for drills. File it under "If aby TimV - Hockey
Bill - a question... - 18 years ago
How do you suggest handling 4:3 broadcasts? I have a 16:9 sony CRT HDTV that offers 4 choices: a)Normal b)stretch c)Fill (and one more - I'm not writing this from where the TV is)? If I use "fill" it looks OK but I lose the "crawls" that report scores etc. "Normal" leaves the picture small relative to the screen size.by TimV - Hockey

Re: Friday Times Union Article on Cornell - 19 years ago
Morosi has done an outstanding job covering college hockey in the Capital District all year, even though all he's got to write about locally is RIP and Onion. I have never seen any Harvard bias from him, and he writes in a style that is engaging and entertaining. He is much too good for the local fishwrap, and I'll enjoy him while he lasts, but I bet he doesn't spend much of his career in Albanby TimV - Hockey

Re: Albany hotel locations - 19 years ago
Actually, IMHO Downtown is the worst choice except for convenience to clubs and the arena. University area is fine good spots in Latham as well. University area: Holiday Inn express on Western Ave is near some good restaurants and Stuyvesant Plaza, an outdoor shopping area with unusual stores; Besy Western Sovreign also good spot. Turf Inn on Wolf Road and the Desmond near the airport are ruby TimV - Hockey
Re: Tickets - 19 years ago
I got 4 on the blue line row Q Thursday 2/17 at the box office. They seem to have plenty of good ones now. Cornell won't get their section alotment until they qualify for the semis, the week before.by TimV - Hockey
