Re: BU Postgame - 16 years ago
Hey KeithK, I always enjoy your posts and humor, may I ask... are your goalies a symptom or the problem? Cheers! Drew EDIT: It was always my contention McKee benefitted from an outstanding D-corps.by Drew - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 at Harvard 2 postgame - 16 years ago
bothmanCornell fans, Good game on Friday night. It really could have gone either way and I think the biggest difference is that Richter > Scrivens. Been a long time since Harvard could say that its goalie is better than Cornell's, but I think this may very well be the case. On that note and looking to the future, it will be interesting to see how the Matt Hoyle vs Mike Garman match upby Drew - Hockey

Enjoy Lynah, you will have fun. BTW Cornellians, You didn't tell him about the Hot Truck!! Oh, the shame of it all! Best, Drewby Drew - Hockey

Re: New Recruit for 2008 - 16 years ago
Josh '99ursusminorUSHR is reporting that Sean Whitney of Cushing Academy has committed to Cornell for 2008. He is a brother of BU's and Pittsburgh's Ryan Whitney.Always weird to see a guy from a New England prep school commit to Cornell. Even more so a guy who has a major tie to a Boston school. Does USHR have anything more about him? A position, even? He plays Defense and shoots left. Cheersby Drew - Hockey
Re: TSN Ranks Riley Nash #33 for the upcoming draft - 16 years ago
scoop85DILLIGAF Is Cornell a fast track to the NHL like North Dakota or Michigan or Minnesota? Absolutely not. Riley Nash should listen closely to edmonton, they will say all the right things about college, but they will not want him in Ithaca. It isn't the right college for a first round kid on the fast track to the NHL. If you want to make the point that major juniors is more appealing tby Drew - Hockey
Re: 2007-2008 Schedule - 17 years ago
Chris '03ugarteTrotskyKeithKDpperk29Of course, the real solution is to have no other EzCAC team than Cornell and not other HEA team than Maine. But that's more easily said than done.I had thought that Clarkson was going to replace Ohio State as the third permanent member of the Estero Security Council. OK by me, espeically now that Clarkson is a power adequate once again. Fixed. Jeez, when didby Drew - Hockey
Re: New recruit...for Section B that is - 17 years ago
billhowardParents should not feel obligated to attend their kids' games. And the kids shouldn't feel as if they're let down if mon and dad don't make all, or even half the games. Some parents can't just cut out of work at 3 pm twice a week. I agree Bill, parents and kids should not be obligated to show up at these events, however, I will share a personal experience with you folks. I was a prby Drew - Hockey
Re: Milo - 17 years ago
martyFrench RageListen, people, there's a group that it's acceptable to make false accusations against, and they're called Clarkson players. And a proper place for it: Redemption Center No worries Marty, Cornell fans speak more shit about their own players than I ever would, even as a rival. Cheers! Drewby Drew - Hockey
Re: [s]Two[/s] Three more recruits - good but how good? - 17 years ago
Josh '99RichHDILLIGAFCan anyone honestly say that anything cornell did this season looked like the hockey as it was played in the NCAA semis or the frozen four? Not a chance. Wanna bet? I guess you weren't in Florida. That win vs. UNH was a strong statement of the ability of Cornell, every bit as dominating a win as many played in the tournament this year. The loss vs. Maine was a large indiby Drew - Hockey

Re: OT (but not really): "Where Have All the Scorers Gone?" - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91DrewNo offense taken, Jim. I was never one for moral victories. Winning the RS, winning the ECAC, making it to the NCAA, winning round one, winning round two, making it to the final four, these are all moral victories. I beg to differ. Winning the ECACs is an actual victory. The ECAC Championship may not be the National Championship, but it's still a championship. I hear ya, Jby Drew - Hockey

quote jtwcornell91]Drew Ok, so you bastards won, congrats! I have a funny feeling this was not our last tango this year. We will get after it again, hopefully in Albany, where we can meet in a bar, put faces with the names and really beat the shit out of each other. I think you mean "drink each other under the table". Yes, all in good fun.by Drew - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell postgame - 17 years ago
ebilmesevilnaturedrobotebilmes Cornell had a big win last night--isn't this supposed to be the time on eLynah when we all get along? well Clarkson is the one fanbase, aside from cornell that is, that has a pretty reasonable pressance on elynah, so it makes sense that there would be some contention (which I happen to enjoy, who likes preaching to the choir?) however, it this case I'd say thatby Drew - Hockey

Re: Cornell at Colgate postgame - 17 years ago
OmieThing is that Mckee even at his worse was probably better that Davenport or Scrivens on most nights. What surprises me right now, is that even though we recognized this was a rebuilding year (granted we were spoiled by wins in the Fall) people are questioning Schafer's decisions so much now. What happened to "In Schafer we trust!"? Does Davenport/Scrivens get the same defensiveby Drew - Hockey
Re: Senior letdown - 17 years ago
ugarteKeithKBeeeejebilmesIt's completely understandable to be pessimistic and critical after this horrid stretch of hockey. Honestly, I think we'd all have an easier time dealing with this horrid stretch of hockey if we hadn't actually had some pretty good runs this season. Most of us expected a tough year; we're getting a tough early second half after a surprisingly good first half, and it'sby Drew - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Clarkson Post-game - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioKeithKebilmesDpperk29well, you'll all be very pleased to know that the kid flipping you off during intermission has been suspended from the next two home mens games. and the administration says that they are taking a harder stance on behavior At Cornell, he would miss all the remaining home games....which is probably much too severe for the offense. I'd suggest that Clarkson's punishby Drew - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Clarkson Post-game - 17 years ago
JDeafvDrew or any other clarkson folks - Has there been any attempt to curtail the offensive and abusive language and behavior at Cheel? It seems to actually be worse than the last time I was there. The f*&k you, and finger all night from the students got old very quick. I enjoyed the intensity and passion displayed by some students, and they even had a few creative cheers and jeers, butby Drew - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Clarkson Post-game - 17 years ago
Wow....no shit slinging! No pre-game or post game shit slinging. Could it be we are more tolerable and respectful of each other's programs? Or are we both more worried that the flamefest would blow out the elynah server? Here is my take, you guys had the early jump and a lot more intensity. I felt we had more grade A scoring chances. I think both goalies played well, the nod to Davenport, foby Drew - Hockey

Re: Cornell vs. Sacred Heart Postgame - 17 years ago
ebilmesI agree with the comment about playing down (or up) to the level of our opponents. It seemed like we played the same way last year, when we played down to the level of opponents like Niagara and up to the level of opponents like CC and Wisconsin. This year, we're playing down to the level of Wayne State and Sacred Heart and up to the level of UNH. It's frustrating that while we can alwaysby Drew - Hockey
