Re: Important message to ice hockey ticket holders - 15 years ago
OK, I demand that a fan next week (Dean/"Imafrshmn-who-is-actually-now-a-senior, I'm looking at you) start the following cheer, softly, rising to a massive crescendo: "Hockey is a game played with a PUCK!" "Hockey is a game played with a PUCK!" "Hockey is a game played with a PUCK!" "HOCKEY IS A GAME PLAYED WITH A PUCK!" "A PUCK! A PUCK! Aby BMac - Hockey

Wow, people are really worked up over this. If AD does this, the faithful will just sing it (without swearing) a capella. It's more fun anyways. And then start a fire Andy chant. Wish I could be there to start it. No, we don't need to swear. I don't, and I haven't heard many people more vocal than me in Lynah over the last 2-odd years (though many have been more clever). USCHO schedule wrong - 15 years ago
Wow! I almost planned a trip incorrectly due to this. Uscho has Cornell playing Yale to end the season... but we're according to CornellBigRed and the ECACHL, we're playing Yale before Brown. Whoops!by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Union, Friday, Jan 16, TV Viewing locations - 15 years ago
Let's say Sports Depot at 7pm on Friday, then! See you guys there.by BMac - Hockey

Boston locations, anyone? We could meet at Cask & Flagon again, or somewhere a little closer to Cambridge. PM or email me (bcm32) to coordinate.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Niagara Game 1 Post Game - 15 years ago
He did that? Ooooh, I missed it- we couldn't get RedCast working in time. Does anyone have a video?by BMac - Hockey
Re: Niagara 0 at Cornell 3 Final - 15 years ago
He plays a tremendous amount of minutes. We need him out there. Would I like him to be more consistent? Of course! But we can't do without him.by BMac - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence 0 @ Cornell 1 Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
I'm going to refer you to Jim Hyla's comment on the SLU game thread- Jim Hylawe get way too critical about how people cheer. Let's be happy they do it; no one can say that only the people who post here know the correct way. We've done it this way at least since I was a freshman in 04-05. It's funny. Everyone knows it. Relax.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Clarkson 1 Postgame - 15 years ago
We'll have to agree to disagree. I think playing for a full minute while a guy is literally not moving on the ice (not moving- not writing in pain, but not moving) is 100x worse than calling said players assholes.by BMac - Hockey

Re: Are we that good? (Cornell after 10 games) - 15 years ago
As I mentioned in the SLU postgame thread- this team has a strong goalie, finds a way to win, scores by crashing the net, and always wins at home except a tie against toothpaste. They feel like the 04 team- like they always win. This team is going to the ECAC finals, at least.by BMac - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence 0 @ Cornell 1 Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
Short game notes from my last game as a student Gallagher- fantastic all weekend long. The scoring opportunity today was sportcenter top play material. Split two guys, beat a third, spun left, beat the goalie, and barely missed a blind backhand in on the spin. Every single person in the rink groaned. 5-minute penalty for hitting M.Kennedy from behind- 100% textbook, he could have been seriby BMac - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence 0 @ Cornell 1, 2nd Period - 15 years ago
Clearly a 5-min, by the way. 100% textbook. Grossly dirty. M. Kennedy could have gotten very seriously hurt.by BMac - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence 0 @ Cornell 1, 2nd Period - 15 years ago
It depends on when- during the intermission, some drunk dudes were sing just "hey baby." During the second, with the band's help, it was Bâby, as in the player.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Clarkson 1 Postgame - 15 years ago
Also, the asshole chant is one I've not heard (I don't think) in my five years straight at Lynah. We did it (the royal We- I didn't) when the Clarkson band was playing for a full minute while we told them to shut up, as Gallagher was on the ice and not moving. Totally warranted.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Clarkson 1 at Cornell 4 Final - 15 years ago
I had a hunch that that was the case. If so, then it's entirely warranted.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Clarkson 1 at Cornell 4 Final - 15 years ago
I'm sure that's what she said. I couldn't tell whether he bumped her to make the ball fall through, or laughed when it did. However, the way she took that kid out was something else. She turned around, and started pushing him with both hands and turning him around while walking forward.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Clarkson 1 at Cornell 4 Final - 15 years ago
Holy cow! My friend almost felt bad for bringing the beach balls! That kid got absolutely p0wned by the Evil Usher Lady. She was staring holes into the beach balls for minutes until she finally got her hands on one... and it slipped through her fingers. So she grabbed the kid who was next to her and really hadn't done anything wrong and dragged him out of the rink.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Clarkson 1 Postgame - 15 years ago
Sicktastic hit early in the first, right by the visitor bench. Did anyone catch who it was? It was probably the sickest hit I've seen in a Cornell game. Ever.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Clarkson Brainstorming Fun - 15 years ago
Ooooh, ok. Gotcha, shorts. The team is normally referred to as "a seleção," you're correct. When referring to the team colors, it's "o verde e amarelo." We can both be right. Yay! (Why am I up at 7am??)by BMac - Hockey
Re: Clarkson Brainstorming Fun - 15 years ago
JoshFWIW, Brazil's actual uniforms are yellow and blue, not green and gold. (Yes, I know that wasn't your point.) I'm going to have to disagree with you here... as the resident Brazilian citizen on ELynah and the guy who happens to have a six-foot flag and both the regular and alternate jerseys hanging in his room, I think I'm qualified to say that the primary uniforms are gold with a greenby BMac - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the pros November 2008 - 15 years ago
My initial reaction: aaawww. My second reaction: EVEN BETTER! It would allow me the opportunity to do my own shadow-pa-announcement, shouting exactly what I just described at the top of my lungs, in my best ACM impression. I really hope this happens now, more than before. Also, Dpperk29, don't mind the Clarkson uniform thread. We like you.by BMac - Hockey
Clarkson Brainstorming Fun - 15 years ago
Clarkson's uniforms have apparently gotten even uglier. Although I strongly support green-and-gold uniforms in certain occasions, hockey is definitely, definitely not one of them. We have had some fun making fun of uniforms recently; recetly, Darmouth was informed that they look just like ninja turtles, without the ninja part. In fact, I also mentioned how they have the ugliest uniforms I've eby BMac - Hockey

OK, quick question: if someone scores an own goal (say, Clarkson's Shea Guthrie on Friday at Lynah), WHAT DOES THE ANNOUNCER (in our case, Arthur) SAY? I'm assuming it would be: "The first Cornell goal... was scored by number 91, Shea Guthrie! (GUTHRIE!) Assisted by number 15, Collin Greening (GREENING!) and number 14, Riley Nash (NASH!). At x:xx, first period (FIRST PERIOD!) That's Sheby BMac - Hockey

Good to know, but people definitely jumped the glass after that Clarkson win- I was in Section B at the time. It wasn't everyone (they opened the zamboni doors for most people) but a ton of people did jump.by BMac - Hockey
