I'm almost certain that was LaJollaRed. Will ask.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Buh-bye, seniors - 14 years ago
What is wrong with you people? They're trolls. It's the same guys who did this last year- start a bunch of accounts, argue with yourself, start a flamestorm. Hi, Simon.by BMac - Hockey

Cornell advances to the second round- first Ivy win in tourney since 1998.by BMac - Other Sports
Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
Plenty of CU fans, good bands from both sides. The PU band was REALLY loud... did they have more instruments than us? I noticed quite a few of our bandies were sitting in the downstairs section- did they restrict them from playing? Greening was a monster all game. Just not much help for him. B.Nash had a great game as well- solid as a rock. Krueger had an O'Byrne-worthy turnover in front of goby BMac - Hockey

Called the Princeton ticket office around noon- "As of 11:30am, game is still scheduled to play. Please check back later or online at Princeton tiger sports something something"by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell worst game of the decade - 14 years ago
For some reason we like to ignore losing to Minnesota in 2005. I STILL think the '04-'05 team was better than the '05-'06 team that lost to Wisconsin, and our better chance to win the title. Maybe it's because that was my freshman year and because the team was undefeated at home- I just didn't know they could lose.by BMac - Other Sports
Re: Cornell-BU @ MSG postgame - 14 years ago
I'm pretty sure the reason we lost is the band not playing the alma mater during the second intermission. Didn't even play the new cornell fight song, or "good old days on the hill." Come on!by BMac - Hockey

Who would win in a fight between a hurricane and coach Schafer? A. Coach Schafer B. Trick question! The hurricane is Hurricane Schafer. C. Harvard Sucks or you could boost female readership by going Tiger Beat on us: What would you rather do? A. Watch Harry Potter with Colin Greening B. Eat Sunday brunch with Riley Nash C. Go couch shopping with Ben Scrivens D. Harvard sucksby BMac - Hockey
Re: Harvard at Cornell postgame - 14 years ago
There certainly is a way of preventing people from throwing fish onto the ice after the intros. We did it two years ago- simply bring a humorous slide show, get your section's attention before the intros, specifically direct the crowd to throw fish at the right time, and presto. The crowd got into it, the band too, it was perfect.by BMac - Hockey

Re: TBRW Awards - 15 years ago
Natyshak (Career Improvement): Evan Barlow- We did not see this kind of fire in the last three years. He became a monster, like Iggulden as a senior and Sawada at the end of his last season. MacFarlane (Skating Beauty and Prowess): Riley Nash. No doubt about it. Shippel-Hornby (Scrappiness and Effort): I'd like to give it to Colin Greening, but this goes to Blake Gallagher for postseason hby BMac - Hockey

Other random question for Trotsky/ACM/other historians: How many teams has Cornell played that no longer exist? Penn and Wayne St. come to mind. It would be funny if the number of teams we haven't yet played in D-I was smaller than the number of teams we have played but no longer exist.by BMac - Hockey

Re: RPI 3 @ Cornell 4 (FINAL) - Game 3, 3/15/09 - 15 years ago
Also, it's harder to rush the ice now since the glass is higher (I remember vividly people jumping in '05) and the RPI players that didn't dress were clustered around the door by section A.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Lynah Faithful on ESPN.com - 15 years ago
imafreshmn, take a curtain call! You can see him in the blue hat towards the end. I'm glad you got the hat back after we made you throw it during Greening's hat trick last yearby BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Brown 2 Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
For the last four years, at least, the playoffs have not fallen on the first weekend of break. Usually ECAC's are that weekend.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Brown 2 Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
Posting a little late, but what a fantastic end to the game. When was the last time we came back from 2 down in the third? Props to the band for playing Schafer outside the rink in order to let Brown have their senior night in peace. Also for being the only band in the rink that didn't sound like a funeral march every time they played. Finally, what's with the playoff series falling on theby BMac - Hockey

Clinching first round bye - 15 years ago
Hi folks, For planning purposes, I'd like to know what the probabilities are of Cornell playing the first round and the second round at home this year. Does anybody know of a script/webpage? Thanks in advance.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 Quinnipiac 1 (2nd period) - 15 years ago
Last year in section a: "WHAT DO BRENDON WONG AND KEVIN DU HAVE IN COMMON?!" Crowd looks on bemusedly, collectively thinking "oh, no!" "THEY SUCK!" Good times. Can't wait for next week.by BMac - Hockey

Is helped off. Doesn't look good. No penalty. Crowd claps then chants "on your feet!" Scrivens with his second magnificent save in as many minutes.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Cornell #4 USCHO Rankings - 15 years ago
Oat, I believe! Conditionally. If they stay like this, improving at the same rate, we make the tourney and probably stop at the second game. That would be great. Maybe they even make the FF (it will take a couple of real good games- they've got in in them). But if they break out and actually reach their full potential, we've got a shot at a title. Seriously, look out- if they're firingby BMac - Hockey
Re: Hockey no more popular now than last year - 15 years ago
I call bull, Datafone, unless you're one of those majors that doesn't go anywhere near ho plaza or west campus. (I'm an engineer, but I lived on West at the time). There was an enormous, giantic, colossal crane in the middle of Ho Plaza there for a week trying to take down the ball. The Daily Sun said that the whole thing cost tens of thousands of dollars, because of the special crane.... it wby BMac - Hockey
