Here's another blurb on Gallagher: At 5'7" he might stick around longer than a year or two. Who knows? Looking forward to seeing Topher, Justin, & Blake...but is the Big going small?by ithacat - Hockey
Re: ECAC blanked - 18 years ago
I know, that's really why I keep following him. It's a preverse kind of almost-pleasure. It'll also be interesting to see if Sauer has any impact of the potential recruitment of McQuaid's next great goalie, Nick Bondurant. As mentioned before on this board, Bondurant helped McQuaid to last year's NYS Championship as an 8th grader. Since the young net-minder currently shows no interest in Corneby ithacat - Hockey
ECAC blanked - 18 years ago
INCH has their list of top incoming players on their site. Of the 20 forwards, 15 defensivemen, and 10 goalies the ECAC doesn't appear to have any (it could be an early morning eye trick). Somewhat related notes: Rochester native, and former McQuiad goalie, Billy Sauer (Michigan) is 6th on his position list. Michigan State has 3 players on the list. 16 penalty minutes, GM in the 2nd period. Ouch. Someone was anxious for the season to begin.by ithacat - Hockey

My new favorite place to eat before or after games is going to be the Buffalo Street BBQ(the old Bistro Q). I've been there a few times and it's great, it's also owned and run by Jeremy Downs' family. Is that so? I'll have to check it out. I was hoping for a Dinosaur in that space, butby ithacat - Hockey
Re: Good Places to Eat Post Game? - 18 years ago
That's too bad about the BG. I haven't been there in months, but never had a complaint over prior experiences. Complaining about an extra 10 minutes seems a bit unfair. The Nines & Stella's would seem like good after game alternatives in CTown. Madeline's & Benchwarmers & Viva Taqueria would seem like good options on the Commons. Go McQuaid... - 18 years ago
2 former teammates from Rochester's McQuaid High School were named to the USA Under-18 team for the Junior World Cup: Billy Sauer (Michigan recruit) & Brian Keane (UMass recruit). Add former teammate Mike Cieslak, who recently joined the NTDP, and McQuaid is looking like a fine program just 2 hours away. Mike Cieslak, HS teammate of former Cornell target Billy Sauer, is joining the US program. He'll be the 2nd Rochester area player in the program (Kevin Montgomery, D). I haven't heard anything on Chad Morin (Auburn/USNDTP) in a bit & found this: Sioux City also has kids from Buffalo & Syracuse on their protected roster. I haven't seen today's paper, but from yesterday's online edition, under the tagline Cornell President Resigns, Citing Split With Trustees: said that that was how he would characterize the situation between him and the board's chairman, Peter C.
